Glad you reviewed the extreme. I haven't smelled it yet but definitely will! I get everything you mentioned in the original but I have to say on my skin in the dry down I pick up a noticeable amount of patchouli that hangs with the fragrance till the end.

Worth trying for sure, especially if you like that rum accord then it will seem like an improvement on the original for you since it also has better performance. I do gets tiny bit of patch in STH but not really on my skin. Thanks for sharing Jacob!

Nice video! I love STH OG because of the Zen-like accord of the cedar dry down. But I wear it predominantly in the summer. I just noticed that there is a STH Oud and Musk that can be bought from Angel Scent in 1 mL decants. You said you thought STH EX may not be strong enough for winter and you missed the cedar accord. Curious what you think of the new Oud and Musk version.

That was really insightful. I agree with your note-flip hypothesis, which I could not articulate myself as well as you have. But the change is not as drastic of a change as you make it sound. I think of Extreme as a longer-lasting Straight to Heaven; mission accomplished. Skin chemistry is also a factor, as I actually get great performance from Straight to Heaven Extreme.

STH extreme is definitely better performing than STH. Form the sound of it you really like the rum note in STH so this is obviously an improvement for you :) . Which is a plus since it performs better! For me the rum note lasting longer changed the clean woody personality that the original was...so it was significant enough of a change. It's relative tbh :) . Thanks for sharing your experience with both! This is useful information for others as well.

Spot on description of the original Straight to Heaven. I get lots of woodiness, but the patchouli also emerges quite a bit on my skin creating this odd, boozy sweetness in combo with the fruits and rum. By Killian fragrances have never quite captured my heart, but tastes change. I may have to try the extreme version, one never knows. Great comparison, mahalos!

Exactly! My taste has changed quite a bit! I used to dislike florals but now am loving some of them :) . Taking into account price, By Kilian frags need to really capture one to be worth it...if it does not click with one, they end up being just an expensive display item lol. The ones that captured me are mostly their Arabian night and Middle East collections but at their price point there are also better options out there. Sampling is always the way to go :) . Good Review. The original had performance problems , it would make sense that they would come out with an extreme version. I just bought the S2H EXTREME, after selling my original bottle last year. My favorite part of the original was the opening. I'm glad that the Extreme stretches that "rum" note through out the life of the fragrance. It lasts 10 hrs on me now. Love it !

I agree with your review. I own a decant of Extreme and a bottle of STH. Extreme is very harsh and I get an animalic oud note that I find off putting. STH is still my choice even though longevity is an issue. I layer it with Sacred Wood which has amazing longevity.

It does perform well and better than the original, but not beast mode imo...maybe relatively to STH yes it's much better. I would say sample worthy but not blind buy worthy especially at the price.

just pick up extreme STH. you're right its boozier and very sweet perfect for late summer nights and fall. STH is more versatile. I sold my travel STH ... but kept 10mls.

It's funny though but You missed the important part, not everyone has the same chemistry, on my skin it turns more woody the Extreme, the original is almost gone after 2 hrs skin scent or nothing around the 4th hour, The Extreme is basically the original on Steroids and It last almost 8 hrs and projected solid 5 to 6 hrs, not everyone has the same skin chemistry, Samples Matters! Yes Oswald I totally agreed with You, I don't care about the Rum, actually I got more Rum with Black Phantom which is good offering but not my cup of tea, I love your work and your luxury picks, because of you and Lupe I bought Naxos for example and I'm testing The Lalique Noir collection. I have a weird skin chemistry which for example I love Jubilation XXV but on my skin it doesn't project or last at all. Thanks for your work and your response, it's a honor.

And funny thing is Jub 25 is muted on my skin too...I have the magnetic cap so not sure if that's why but it's not pushing out on my skin...I guess I can't win them all lol . There's a huge difference in Jubilation XXV. Some people say there's not much of a difference, but just in performance alone there is. You used to get a beautiful thick sweet berry note in the opening that lasted. Now it's more coriander and wood. I almost cried when I got the magnetic cap for a replacement. I didn't mind Amouage's Epic lasting that long, it was wonderful to wear. Amouage left themselves open for clones and knockoffs when they reformulated .

+BJ BJ good question! I think it could have been a standalone release. I was hoping a true Extreme version would have amped up the cedar and rum but with the cedar still leading. They each have defining personalities..enough to be standalones . Thanks for watching!!

Straight to Heaven extreme is a longer lasting version of the original . It smells more rich and smells better imo . Less cedar , more rum and deeper vanilla . You should try parfums vintage Bois De Mystere , it’s excellent
