Re slied frice! I always find it better when the bread is a touch dry/stale. I’ve even been known to hang a slice on the washing line to dry it out! 😊

I would have left the bubble and mushrooms out and put some tomatoes and black pudding in for my preference. Still a great tasting breakfast either way and a good way to use your leftovers. Needed a sauce to top it off as you rightly demonstrated.

A lamb chop ,a bit of liver and onions would complete that dish ,followed by a magnum ice cream ,then a 6 pack of old speckled hen 😋

You obviously have your technique for the fried bread, but I was always taught to put the bread into hot oil to prevent too much absorption.

Oh looks fantastic, mouth is watering, tummy rumbling. Here in Scotland we don't do bubble, beans are a maybe. I hate black pudding. My old mum would have the sausages and bacon cooked together, kept warm while the mushrooms and tomato cooked in the pan withe fabulous unhealthy 'grease' from sausage n bacon, eggs cooked in it, then the fried bread. Your fry up is just so fab looking and healthy in comparison. If there was left over potatoes and veg like cabbage or swede /turnip yes it would be in that pan as well..... Good food for the start of the day or an evening when you want quick fast food.... Thank you for cooking 'for us'.

I think your fry up looks delicious. Thanks for showing your technique for making bubble. While I've heard of it, I've never cooked it, or had it in a restaurant during any of my numerous trips to the UK.

Great breakfast. Bubble was a new one on me. Hadn't heard that before in that context. I guess it means leftover veg. Great idea to fry it up and mash it in the pan. Nice big mushrooms. Don't usually associate them with breakfast myself but why not? Whatever takes your fancy. The only thing I would rule out of my kitchen would be those non stick frying pans. I'm used to my cast iron pans. Wouldn't swap them for anything and they will last me out.

It's interesting for someone like myself who has a limited culinary repertoire, so to speak, to discover the personal ways you prefer to cook your fry-up meal and what components you select . Excellent plate of food DJ, my only bit of advice is to use more oil, a quality rapeseed oil or even a quality olive oil, these are healthy heart oils and would make it taste even nicer, particularly on the bubble. Remember DJ it is a fry up at the end of the day 😊, Dave

That was impressive fry up, Darren. A real workers breakfast. I cooked one earlier today but I could only manage two butchers made sausages and dry cured slices bacon with usual accompanying ingredients but I like your twist on bubble squeak. Have try that next time rather than hash browns. Another enjoyable video showing your cooking skills DJ.

I normally do the fried bread last. I use the same pan I've cooked the sausages and bacon in.

Darren, I think this is a winner and should be a weekly feature on your channel (same day every week). I love your fry up. So much better than most of the fry up’s I’ve had when out. I love that I can see u cook it and eat it, whereas usually it’s only the latter. I’d like to see u do a steak, and a roast in particular. I love your content. But, your a better man than me. I notice that KZbin comments bring out the odd nasty sad person who feels good giving their wisdom on diet / life and everything else! As one says, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything. Think everyone has their own way but for me the fried bread needed the oil to stay in so it's crispy both sides rather than like toast. Bubble and squeak for me needs to be 60-70% potato with the the rest made up of the veg. But each to their own, it certainly looks good though mate

Beef sausages are the best, always have been. But you rarely see them in the shops. You can get beefburgers, minced beef, beef steaks, beef everything else, but rarely beef sausages. Of the supermarkets, I think only Marks and Spencer sells them. Otherwise it's the small local butchers, God bless 'em.

I Toast the fried bread slightly first so its not so greasy " its good for you" lol and i shudda mashed the bubble first with far more potato content, but i guess more veg is bettter for u 😮 plus heinz beans are to watery.. thought u was a branston convert mate 🙏
