I haven't been carrying enough different small redundant items as of late to warrant using those pockets. I do like using the one for a ballpoint pen for my six-inch ferro rod though. For me, the outside pockets are usually enough. Inside will be a small shelter option like my 7x7 Andaki Rainfly and hammock, alcohol stove, folding saw, bushcraft grill, and a few other items. I have really gotten used to carrying less as of late.

Greetings and new year's cheer. Am desirous to replace a zipper bag of mine tearing at the bottom from heavy load. "HUACHEN leather extra large bag M80" and you the top search. By chance isn't the one you showcased? The link no longer exists. The product is similar, thus seems primed to last. I knew items are made of leather but hadn't considered their toughness.

There are some very similar to the one that I have but yes the one that I own has been discontinued it seems. I do check in from time to time to see if it ever comes bach but so far it has not. The best bet is to indeed find one very similar. The SUVOM site on Amazon no longer has anything at all on their " backpacks " page.

Crazy horse leather basically means it's saddle leather typically used in saddle making and is waterproofed so that it is moisture resistant. It is still leather from cattle though.
