They are OK, I wouldn’t say they are a leader. Being able to drive the car once unlocked / unrestricted with no proximity fail safe is a bit nuts. If you unlock the car with the card the card should be present to enable a drive for the duration of the drive.

Thank you for the tips! For the adaptive cruise control: - first you can turn it on by clicking on the “res and set” button; - then if you want to set the adaptive cruise control to your current speed, just push the “little wheel” down (set) - at last if you break, the adaptive cruise control will turn off/in stand-by, and if you want to turn it back on to your latest set speed, turn the “little wheel” up (resume). 👍

9:53 - That button is the electronic Handbrake. The P under the shifter just means the car is in Park. The EHB is more for hills etc like in older cars when you put car in Park or N and then you pull the handbrake. Thats what that button does.

Thank you. A couple of things you mention I didn't know. I always press the mic button on the steering wheel when I need to ask BYD, and then I try and put on an American or Asian accent for her to understand me 😂. I had to read the manual how to use the cruise control, basically press the button and then pull the adjacent lever down to set it at the curent speed.

While messing with the cruise control I have had Miss A try to set my speed to the default 30km while on a freeway not very nice Miss A. Just remember where the Microphones are if you wish to be heard.

The microphone wasn't picking you up because the zone has been set to only listen to the passenger. You can see the text below the Hi BYD text indicates the zone is locked to the passenger side. You can lock the zones to passenger, driver or front seats in the settings. Good review though. Thanks.

A 3rd question. Can the power be disconnected from the car while it is charging overnight or does it lock to prevent that?

Hi Marius, Frunk is fine and available on OS models, Phone holder is Baseus and made of mostly metal grips is ok but still moves. Settings allows both options for AC charging.

Try Bunnings as the Bunnings basket is the right size. I would get something 20 mm shorter in length as it just touches the AC pipes.

I just had my first service done and my "Frunk" container upset the service technician. He took it out and told me in no uncertain terms that "nothing" is to be placed under the bonnet.

Out of interest, how long is the AC charger cable? I'm contemplating one of these and need to get a PowerPoint installed in my carport. Just wondering how long the cable is so I know it will reach. I can see the charge port is on front driver side, so that's good to know 😉

Your dash mat, I've seen it for sale and wondered if it obstructs the airbags from deploying properly? I'd like to get a mat to protect my dash from fading (planning to sell at end of 5 year novated lease) but worried about safety.

The dash mat is very light and just sits on the dash. The main problem with this mat is the pattern. The pattern can reflect on the glass when you drive towards the sun.

Quick question we have set our Atto3 31:07 up as a camper car and want to sleep in it when charging and camping grounds etc ideally with a C on but the headlights are always on can we turn them off? Also a suggestion perhaps in future videos you could describe where the buttons you are indicating are located as it would be useful to review while driving

I've seen some very different dash materials on Atto 3. That patterned one is similar to the one I test drove. But others have plain blue....

Hi Andrew, max distance is around 10 metres, with the new Byd phone app you could be in another country, a little bit scary.

I far prefer my 1992 Mercedes plain Jane 2.3 litre 190 E . Modern cars are essential I know but the manufacturers are clambering blindly or desperately to best the competition throwing frankly a number of electronic novelty many people aren't compelled to deal with or for that matter read a manual on these issues the size of a door stop.

Additionally, I am very pleased at as no longer having to line the pockets of oil sheiks and similar corporatists. My old Merc was a good vehicle in its time but compared to the EV it drove like a 10 tonne truck. It has now gone to Merc heaven.

The cable under the bonnet does not unlock the charge port door. It only releases the charging plug if the lock won't release. Only pressing unlock twice on the key will unlock the door.

It's a safety feature and shouldn't be turned off. When manouvering out of a car park it needs to be heard. The Leaf has a loud "pinging" when reverse is engaged, this serves the same function.
