Having a 10 minute charge rate is great, except that the chargers MUST be able to transfer the power that fast, image the amount of current draw from the grid when you have 10 cars on one charge station at the same time, as much power as a large factory, very few charging stations have the infrastructure to handle this. The REAL problem with EVs is not the car itself it is the charging infastucture.
@knickjetlag774120 сағат бұрын

The EV hocus pocus continues. Mining extra copper for the higher demand grids burns more oil rendering worse pollution. An ICE might have its exhaust pipe on itself and at the wells, refineries, component factories while EVs now have their exhaust pipes a thousand more places and due to being less efficient cause greater pollution. Electricity is not a source of energy.

Environmental questions they need to address - how to recycle older lithium batteries, is this new technology fully capabled of being recyled, what is the cost to manufacture? I live 100% off grid with solar and battery back up because I chose to live in a remote area. But I also understand that regardless of being off grid, most of the materials are derived from oil.

Na ion or Na S will be very cheap bulkier but not a problem for grid storage ... Na is not a scarce element ..its also stable and safer... even under -30 C conditions.

If another car company like Toyota etc had issued this statement I wouldn't even have bothered to listen but CATL or BYD are market leaders in battery technology so more believable than most. By the way the original name of the company was "Yadi Electronics", named after Yadi Road in Dapeng New District, where the company was initially based. The "B" was added later to create the acronym BYD, which stands for "Build Your Dreams," but it was originally just "YD" so now you know!

Yes new Generations of lithium Fe phospate .. Lithium Fe Manganese. In commercial vehicle fleets .. Na (as in Salt NaCl) based cells are already on their second generation cells already and being implemented in China already for grid level storage.. because its cheap and very stable and causes little polution in extraction or recycling. S KOREAN companies have also announced they will start fitting Solid state cells. Meantime CATL has stopped producing Li ion cells and also Li NMC cells. Going to Li Fe + chemistries to reduce the need for Nickle, Chromium and Cobolt. Rarer costly metals. The Chinese domestic heavy commercial vehicles and private vehicle market is vast ... And as for tarrifs they kust buy or build battery plants in ouside of the tarrif zoned countries.🤷🏻
