This only 600k php in China. Even with shipping, 1.7M php jump is astronomical.

Yup. Overpriced by a lot considering the duties for EV is zero. In Thailand that model shown in the video which is not even the extended range just cost 1.1 million pesos equivalent considering the taxes here and Thailand are almost similar. Ayala want to earn 100% margins. Not worth it.

@@HarveysWorkshop It makes sense, they know the market isn't ready to adopt EVs, and the few that want EVs have money to spend anyway.
yup philippines trying to get every tax on top of the current price. its insane. Hybrids for now because the engine is usually 1.3 which is still considered like a small car.

1 burning question I have with EV's in general that all reviewers here in the PH is not covering is when the battery dies on this models 7-10 yrs down the line, how epxensive is it to replace? specially for our family who owns cars 10-12 yrs at a time before upgrading to a newer model and I guess for 2nd hand car buyers in the future of this model should also consider.

you can bring this to baguio. Yes, but what will be the remaining capacity of the battery there? maybe 20%? 30%? obviously 400km is longest range it can get from point A to point B in a perfect condition. and always using the car with battery below 20%? i assume it is li ion/lipo4 then goodluck bout the battery health.

LiFePo4 is actually great for shorter range vehicles. It's not as picky to charge compared to Nickel type. (We have a LR Tesla MY and a RWD M3.) We need a reliable electrical grid. Hoping for Tesla to enter the Philippine market.

@@applemansanas3246 The BYD Seagull once it becomes available locally should be around 600k-700k. That would be a game changer. I actually don't mind taking public transit in the Philippines. No parking hassle and fare is cheap and regulated.
@applemansanas32468 ай бұрын
Yaaa fare cheap for foreigners. not for locals.. also try commuting in manila. well if it is 600-700k it is good, but for sure it will go above 1m@@cfc779
