I feel like that box is going to be a valuable component for DIY EV converters... Everything you need in one convenient package.

Really interesting, thank you for sharing. Nice and simple Kapton tape bus bar insulation!

I believe, the pre-charge circuit (resistor) is only needed for the inverter. Hence the 150A fused outlet (top) is for the motor.

So can dc fast charging be added into this box ? Our e6 already has type 2 just need dc ccs 2 combo socket and controller.

I'm interested in New BYD E6 Blades battery and the car. Any news for that ??

Without meaning to be overly glib, why the hell would I be messing around with an old E6 if I had access to a new one?!

Hello! According my knowledge BYD E6 have build in V2G, V2L and V2V features. Do You know how it works and what is necessary to use it? I have BYD E6 European version with Type 2 plug, but I don't have any plug to use it for V2L purpose. I found out in market connecting devices to output 220VAC for Chinese version, but not for European...

You are in a similar situation to me. I find it very frustrating that there is this inbuilt potential but that there is no documentation or information to enable it's use. Each one of these thousands of vehicles could profoundly increase the amount of useful renewable energy in our lives if only the documentation was available.

@@RaglansElectricBaboon Have You tried V2V option? I think that there should be only Type 2 to Type 2 (female-female connectors) cable and it shall work. I believe that it would give at least partial answer how shall work V2L...
@haralds96353 жыл бұрын
I think that there shall be simulated car's Type 2 connection algorithm to BYD E6 outlet (as input signals) and E6 shall provide output power to another car. I have tried to do it manually (with resistors), but it was not successful (probably there was some timing problem).

@@haralds9635 hey. I have a question and I hope either of the two gentlemen can help me in this. I use the BYD E6 2012 version. Which came with an industrial grade 64A charger. And the port is Gb/T 2011. Questions are as follows 1) the pin inside the car is a GB/2011 female port (Chinese standard) which is very much similar to the Europian type 2 pin. I wanted to know is it possible to swap the onboard GBT with a type 2 pin port ( male) *please note that they both have the same pin holes* 2) does the BYD E6 2012 version allow single phase portable charger which is either 8/12/16A. Will there be any complicated. Much appreciated if your experience can guide me on tho.

@@aatifaffan8090 Hi! I have European E6 originally with Type 2. My car without problems can take 1phase 32A, three phase 32A (Nominal 22kW in reality ~18kW) and from three phase 64A (nominal 43kW - in reality ~28kW). I have no experience with GB/T. Leaflets with specification sheets gives identical charging power for both connectors. I found out that in Aliexpress is available adapter GB/T to Type 2. If You are thinking just change plug I don’t know… Off course we can compare identification of inverter installed on car. If part number is the same You can change just plug, but if not I think use adapter better option.

Doesn't look like a shunt, looks like a Hall effect current sensor
@RaglansElectricBaboon3 жыл бұрын
You're right, I'm wrong. But so are you 😜 A Hall effect current sensor is a solid- state piece of electronics. This is a CT coil. All three devices can be used for current measurement and that's what I should have said-'current sensor'. Cheers for the feedback and the view. And possibly the like?!

Can I get your contact on WhatsApp for help. I unboxed my box and messed up the connections and I need your guide. Maybe a picture can do.
