Indian Govt should make a program in such a way that all petrol pumps must have atleast 2 EV charging stations 1. fast and 2. normal charging speeds. This will eliminate the range anxiety . If one can find EV charging stations every 100 Kms range doesnt matter much , Next generation of battery tehcnology will easily crack 1000Km range and improve charging speeds .

500 km range at 100km speed is insane. That shows how efficient the car is. In city it would drive way more for sure. At last India has world class EV at good price. Hopefully we will see more of it. There is SUV version Seal U or Sea Lion that should hopefully address ground clearance issues and also cheaper hatchback Seagull. I would think rest of the auto OEM better step up their game and Tata/Mahindra also put out world class EVs.

True, I own byd atto3 for over 15 months now and constantly getting around 400 km range even with no EV consious driving, BYD cars are really efficient and offer value for money too

How does efficiency is measured by range? Higher the battery pack more is the range. Actual efficiency should be measured by range per kWh of power. That is if it gives 600 km range with 82 kWh battery than it would be about 7.2 kms per kWh, which same for most current cars including Tesla and other US brands.

Tata need to to start with setting up a blade batteries in their cars. The traditional batteries it has lags performance and charging hold in them. Easily gets over heat and sets on 🔥 .

Excellent video man.. you truly know how to do a range test, and dare I say only one in the Indian scene to do so. I test drove the vehicle two weeks back, the performance is just insane, and you are correct, ADAS does hinder us when weaving through traffic. I would suggest that you do a charge test after you return the car, just to show people what time it is going to complete when charging on a high speed charger. This car supports 150kw charging, would be done in less than 30 minutes for full charge.

The biggest issue for EV is the resale value of the car. If you have couple of vehicles and u don't want to sell it in future.... Then EV is fine. However EV is not that eco friendly as it is projected. So the overall CO2 footprint is same or maybe higher in terms of EV vehicles. There will be one time when we need to even deal with a huge battery waste management problem

Many of you are wondering about taxes on imported EV units which is 70%-100% depending on the price but what most of us are unaware of is that the Indian Govt. made a new policy (to attract Tesla to come to India) whereby the tax is substantially reduced to only 15% if a company invest a minimum of 500 million dollars in India but when BYD placed a proposal of investing 1 Billion USD in India to avail the benefit of this policy Indian Govt. intentionally blocked this offer. Now the question is, is this policy only for the benefit of a particular company and not for the benefit of the consumers? Secondly, if India does not want a Chinese company to sell in India, why allow them to do so now (with more tax)? Again will Tesla be able to provide such a car at such a price? Is there some geopolitics going on to provide an unfair advantage to one USA-based company against one China-based company otherwise let alone Tesla our Indian companies like Tata and Mahindra will also face fierce competition. If we think as a patriot, it protects our Indian-based company but if we think otherwise both Tesla and BYD are foreign companies for us and providing unfair advantage to one of them kills the competition which is bad for us or the consumers.
