He may have just skipped the big issues. There are reports that this car cannot maintain long-term consistent highway speed of 120+ kmh (75+ mph) once the battery gets drained. Kinda makes sense - it only has an 1.5L ICE engine and a heavy battery to lug. And if you happen to climb some incline in the middle of a lengthy road trip, you are probably literally screwed. But hey "Dislike 1" in this video is a phone call system 😀
@JerryPanandCarsАй бұрын
@@akh345 Yeah, that's clearly not an issue most people will experience. The system reserves its battery level at around 20 to 25%. You always have some charge left to get enough power. Do you mean a long-term consistent highway speed? It actually uses more fuel and charges the battery more in that situation. You also mentioned climbing some inclines in the middle of a lengthy road trip, any hybrid battery will struggle to maintain its peak performance but it doesn't necessarily mean "you are screwed".
@akh345Ай бұрын
@@JerryPanandCars I link the detailed discussion of that problem below. Please note that it is a 1.5L ICE car weighing 2,000+ kg empty that relies on a pre-charged battery to produce the extra power required to propel such a sizeable vehicle. On a long road trip at 120+ kmh, you will be using up the battery since the ICE alone can't produce enough net power to maintain such speeds on a vehicle of that size. The battery level drops to your pre-set cutoff level (whatever level you like - 15%, 25%, 50%, 75%) and you are left on ICE and can no longer maintain the steady fast highway speeds. Basically, there is a reason why RAV4 prime/Outlander PHEV use 2.4L+ ICE engines instead of 1.5L. Here is a more detailed discussion of that issue: (Seems youtube is blocking links to reddit - please look up "Song Plus Performance")

Nice review ! I don't have an electric vehicle charging system at home, so I'll probably charge the battery occasionally and mostly drive in hybrid mode. Do you think this car has an appeal that surpasses Toyota's RAV4 Hybrid when it comes to ride comfort and overall build quality?

From watching a few other reviews, I have seen that they are not sold with the built in dashcam in Australia, however the wiring is still there and you can buy the aftermarket camera and install yourself. When you reboot the car it’ll update to include the camera
