Yes, I see your point. But, I think there should be a healthy balance between a serial format, and un-connected episodes. Season 11's episodes were different individual stories, but had hints at a bigger story (Claw Of The Law). Season 12 had individual episodes, but they created story lines that continued Ryan's arc and led up to Oliver's Eleven. Season's 13 and 14 had the whole Sailor John plot, which led up to Saving Pirate Ryan. I predict that there will be some kind of continued story line either in season 17 or 18 (If there is a season 18).

Or Bertie just worried about being teased by Thomas being beaten by a race car. Being bested by something you're good at can be embarrassing and some people won't let you hear the end of it. And honestly, after what Thomas and Bertie have been through together, I can't say I blame him. What makes you think Sailor John has something to do with it? He has his treasure, he's got no reason to come back and made it pretty clear he wouldn't. Not everything that happens behind the scenes build up to a climax like Saving Pirate Ryan.

@@eslm-studios2996 for one keekra wouldn't leave open plot holes in his series and two the railway inspector made it clear that he wouldn't come back and did the exact opposite so whose to say sailor John wouldn't do the same my conspiracy theory is that where ever the tugboat headed of sailor John needed a new method of transportation since skiff rebelled against him so he bought ace as his new mode and considering how anti climatic saving pirate Ryan was I think it was just a setup for another storyline maybe sailor john wants revenge on the railway for all the trouble they put him through

Ace is a racecar and he was training for a race coming up, so likely chance the only thing Ace is linked to is that race. Not every antagonist sides with a big bad like Sailor John or Diesel 10.
