This was my absolute favorite movie from my childhood. Ann Margaret was beyond sexy and Paul Lynde (the father) was hilarious! This clip was one of the highlights of the movie. Thanks for posting! It brings back many fond memories.

this is my favorite part of the movie, probably because the dad is just so hysterical, I loved him, he made the movie for me.

I was casted as Mrs. Macafe yet in the school and this song is the hardest song! Well I may be partial sense I am a lyrical soprano having to sing an alto part witch some times i cant even hit its so low. :P

The father's part is hard if you sing bass most of the time. It gets so high there at the end for someone used to singing so low.

The guy is Paul Lynne, known for this, and 'Bewitched' and other stuff in the 60s and 70s and he affected his voice in order to funnier, and it usually worked. He was also gay, out, and that was what he was, without saying it, trying to affect, so so one would black ball him, which they did back then. Ciao!

I remember when Paul Lynde sang this song on Ed Sullivan's TV show back in the 60's. Sullivan seemed to get a big kick out of it.

@conradragzoff Paul Lynde wasn't closeted by the standards of the time, nor was Rip Taylor. Everyone knew. It just wasn't discussed in the media.

@jehouse Yes, Paul was a flamer in his own way. As a kid I had no idea he was gay. I just thought he was smarmy. lol
@NoirFan0114 жыл бұрын
@jehouse Paul was an example of "gay but not gay." He was clearly gay but never openly said he was gay.

I love Paul Lynde. He's my favorite closeted homosexual. It sucks he's dead because he was a riot. Fact: He's the inspiration for the Alien's voice on American Dad.

Three first rate numbers and the rest so god awful it can be painful to sit through. At least there was the rare sight of the great John Charles Daly in color! Anyway, whatever magic there was in the broadway show was long gone by the time this mess was made. Ann Margaret, Janet Leigh, and Dick all gamers but the movie, just dreadfull.

sick ! No wonder we started taking drugs in the 60's. Did they really expect us to watch this shit? This isn't groovy at all......
