Motor vehicle Amendment act is recently passed after president assent.This bill come up with some additional provision with existing motor vehicle bill . 1-Fines increases from 300 to 1000 rupee if a person is not carry helmet. 2-For drunk drivers penalty and fines increases to 15000 rupee along with a jail term of 6 year. 3-Its also incude emergency help needed during traffic for ambulance. 4- Multiplicity of licensing ,and linking with adhaar number. According to reports 70% population depended on bikes and accident rates are also high for them this bill is definitely going to reduce the inefficiency in system as it cover ground level problem. However there are some loopholes exist with this bill such as • Lack of infrastructure including highways. • Enforcement plan is strengthened for fast and better result. • Black spot that exist in designing system should be tackle. • Penalty for Construction agency invole in road construction is vague. Conclusion : Any amendment is just implementry in nature it become effective by our participation ,creating more awarness, mainting law and order ,rules and regulation.

2) the uranium contamination in India is a resultant of lack of institutional preparedness and technological upgradation. What are its effects on human health and the means to address them ? Ans: uranium contamination: mining of uranium results in the unavoidable radioactive contamination of environment by solid, liquid and gaseous wastes. There are reports of widespread uranium contamination in ground water across India demands an urgent response * In 2015 Bangalore study found 2000mcg/L of uranium in ground water *In recent studies AP and Telangana found to have over 500mcg/L and in Gujarat & Rajasthan an undesirable uranium level in their waters * WHO prescribes permissable level of uranium in drinking water is 30mcg/L *But unfortunately the residents of regions surveyed were using wells recording far greater uranium level in their ground water *Significantly the bureau of Indian standards does not specify a norm for uranium level and water is not tested regularly for it Sources of uranium contamination: 1) Alluvial aquifers in Rajasthan and other north western regions 2) crystalline rock such as granite in southern regions Eg: Telangana 3) over extraction of groundwater Uranium effects on human health: *Kidney damage * Cancer ( thyroid) *Depression * Chronic effects of uranium is still unknown Way forward: 1) groundwater contaminated across India must be probed & mapped , and safe source need to be identified 2)need more comprehensive systematic studies 3)make testing for uranium a routine part of groundwater quality monitoring 4)include a uranium standards in bureau of Indian standards drinking water specification 5)explore new ways to treat and to prevent uranium contamination 6) conservation & adoption of efficient water use practice 7) evaluation of human health risks in area of high uranium prevalence
