The run of soil along with boulders is known as landslide. They are mostly prone to hilly areas . Kerala is a state flanked by western ghats in the north and coastal regions in the west and south.. Recently the state is hit with severe landslide in wayanad and malappuram districts. Last year around the same time massive flood have taken place along many regions of Kerala. Factors : * Natural as well as anthropogenic Natural includes : land subsidence Lateral shift Soil piping These are caused due to geological processes inside the earth and unsustainable practices like farming and construction. Recently pathanamthitta in kerala is reported for carrying several unlicensed quarrying Considering the vulnerability about the situation the ministry of earth sciences has decided to set up a landslide monetary board whose function is to study about the vulnerable region and extend timely warning and preparedness towards the local communities. Other mitigation mechanisms like 1. Building of retention walls 2. Hazard maping 3. Restriction on infrastructure and settlement Over hazard prone area should be checked However for Kerala we should work on both rehabilitation and preparedness .

Plz review the answer: Role of UN in kashmir conflict: -Unresolved kashmir issues is one of the major irritant in India-Pakistan relation. Indias independence from british empire came with partition plan of mountbatten where princely states were given three options 1)join India 2) Join pakistan 3) Remain as a Independent. At this time J&K opted to remain Independent but Pakistan attacked J&k and tried to capture it by force. In between J&k signed instrument of accession with India and then India proceeded to protect its territory but Till then pakistan occupied most of the territory. Considering this ground reality India thought that UN can solve the dispute and so issue went to the UN. -But Globally bipolar order with cold war between USA and USSR made UN dysfunctional. -still, UN at that time recommended for taking openion of J&k people but before that Pakistan and India has to take pre-war position which Pakistan never implemented. -Then much water flown after this decision of UN. And also simla agreement made it clear that kashmir dispute is purely bilateral issue and third party has no role to play in between. -Recently, due to reorganisation of J&k by India, pakistan is raising this issue in UN but 4 out of 5 security council member said it is a bilateral issue. So UN cannot do anything in kashmir dispute now. - in other issues also UN has not done anything like Russia- Crimian issue so Right now UN has very limited role in such dispute where unilateralism prevails worldwide. Conclusion: Given the fact that simla agreement recognise kashmir dispute as bilateral, UN has no role to play. Also now India is preferring real politics over idealist in IR.So to end major irritant between India-Pakistan relation both leader need to be pragmatic and need to take some bold steps.

Landslide are mass movement of rock waste including soil and ice. Detachment and downslope of soil and ice under the influence of gravity are called mass movement. Landslide are of various type depending upon the movemnet of rock waste due to horizontal and vertical movement of earth such as fall ,debris, slides etc. The risk of Landslide in kerala are result of both natural tectonic activity such as land subsidence, earthquake , soil pipening etc and anthropogenic activity such as illegal querring ,construction and deforestation. There are various measures to be taken to reduce the risk associated with landslides: 1-Sustainable balance b/w man and environment relation by reducing anthropogenic activity like dam construction ,querring ,mining etc . 2- Avoid practing unsustainable farming. 3- Reducing deforestation to maintain climate over that region. 4- Early warning system to easily save life of people should be installed at landslide prone areas. 5-Reducing wetland encroachment that is highly promoted for development in construction around such areas. CONCLUSION: Natural disaster like landslide causes catastrophic disturbances in region. Migration from that area is short term solution and in long run our govt take good action.

Landslide refers to downside movement of rock partice under the direct influence of gravity and particulary releted to unsustainable human activity and natural activity like Earth quake and excessive rainfall. There are some of the measures that can be taken into account in earthquake prone areas these : 1:- Early warning system in order to take care of people who residence along these areas 2:- reducing unnessary soil erosion by stopping excessive excavation . 3:- stopping rock cutting by blasting it can leads to landslide by only the small magnitude of earth quake .because it loosen the rock 4:-evaluating those area which are most prone, apply red flags and danger box etc to make them aware . 5:- stopping infrastructure in such areas that leads to loosen the rock . 6:- we should consider wind aspect. Because it would apply pressure to the rock and ultimately rock will erode . I m trying first time in my life time . There will be huge mistake but I tried after this . Please correct me as much as possible . It would help me .

And also every legislator must be given a chance to raise their constituency issues.

Ans 2 )[ Introduction ] International bodies not interrupt in any countries bilateral issues ,so on the UN in India's bilateral issues . ● It's clearlly mention in shimla agreement tht jammu and kashmir is bilateral issue of india .Althought Pakistan try to internationalized the issue but unable to get support from UN and international community . ● Major countries. i.e. Maldives and Islamic countries UAE stand in support of india , UNSC General Secretary alleged that their is no question of mediation as its bilateral issue . ● India after banning Article 370 & 35A enforced J& k reorganisation bill under which Jammu & Kashmir (with legislature )& ladak ( without legislature ) become 8th ,9th Union Territory of India .Hence integeral part of India . Therefore issue already solved .their is no question of bringing matter at international level .. At same time UN also not Debar India in doing such bill implementation as it personal matter of india . ● way forward UN already reject Pakistan appeal to interrupt in J&k issue as its bilateral issue of country . India also started fresh delimitation process in J&k . And further also it carry forward the elections after strengthening security and begins development process in J&K . As UN will not interfere in any countries bailateral issue .

Sir i think its just me but i don't think its a welcome step to introduce a mcc. As our this session went there were bills passed even when the oppossition walked out. There was no use even when the opposition raised some great question. Introducing a mcc will provide a more grasp for the ruling party as it will leave them with no option.

UN Resolving Kashmir Conflict Across economic, social, cultural or political engagements between different nation, a common emerging preference is that of unilateralism. World global conglomerations rendering themselves less and less effective is leaving multilateralism in its wake. The USA withdrawing from global commitment in environmental or economic spheres. Engaging directly with North Korea in resolving the conflict. The United States and South Korea are allies under the 1953 Mutual Defense Treaty. The United States established a bilateral alliance with South Korea instead of establishing a multilateral alliance with South Korea and other East Asian countries. Handling the issue of Iran outside the influence G7 is not an isolated incidence of a country. Global grouping is finding itself progressively turning into white elephants. So in the age of efficiency and effectiveness, it only seems reasonable for nations to engage at individual levels to achieve a fasten and mutually benefiting conclusion. In this trend of engaging at a bilateral level UN seems to be losing its relevance in the realm of global affairs. The USA negotiating with Taliban to come up with an exit plan and ensure its safety.UN unable to carve out a stable environment in Syria, or aid Palestine suffering at the hands of Isreal at Gaza strip etc., point towards a weakening UN. Besides India has managed to garner support from the global community in branding the issue of Jammu & Kashmir as an internal matter. Even China took a diplomatic stand with too much to handle her own. Four out of five UNSC nation has favoured India interpretation most recent being Poland. Pakistan contentions and claim of India violating UN charters meet a befitting counter from Indian narrative. Further claims extended by India are substantiated by the facts. Shimla Agreement 1972 signed between India and Pakistan has recognised Kashmir to be solved through bilateral talks, ruling out any external intervention. India is strengthening its claims by acting out well-meaning intentions as it is moving towards an election in the state. Presenting Kasmir glance of its future by hosting Global Investor meet in October in Kashmir. With a hopeful attempt to introduce democracy to the third tier of local government India is presenting itself successfully as a well-wisher of Kashmiri population. With its global deteriorating image as a ground for breeding terrorism and recent regional concerns make it look an uphill task for Pakistan to get the desired result. Even the claims of unconstitutional actions are very easily contested by legal experts as India used its own constitution and its amendments in the most potent manner. Perhaps it is lost the battle for Pakistan as it reaches out to UN which does not have a lot of influence to muster on the issue.
