Imagine a character dividing the community purely because people found them underwhelming and then those same people have to learn the hard way how painfully broken that character is. Edit : aight, so it turns out I was a bit off the mark in calling Byleth "broken". Apparently they're only good in doubles, pretty unviable competitively, and the terrifying combo on DK was untrue and only works on DK. As a person that isn't familiar with competitive Smash and only used this video as a reference, it makes sense that my conclusion ended up being unreliable. I wouldn’t say he’s broken. He seems to be more a defensive type character with his long ranged moves which isn’t really good for ultimate’s engine. Although, he would probably win the matchup against DK. Since all it takes is an up B connection. That combo only works on DK.
