For that black plastic clip, i know which one it is, and for the yellow and red wire that you clipped off of it, did you just wire them both together, clip off the connector end (not plugged in), and just run it with both wires braided together under that electrical tape, with no resistor? Having this problem on my daily after replacing half the steering column. Came from pre 78 GM, newer cars like these are foreign to me computer wise.

But yes just clip them off the plastic clip whatever just clip it all off and why are those wires together it's a quick easy fix until you can do it properly with the correct parts

What does it mean to relearn the ignition process? How do I do that?

On a Chevrolet nine times out of ten it's a security mode have been thrown that means that the key is lost or stolen my case was someone tried to steal my truck and I had to replace the whole column they stuck a screwdriver in the ignition and swatted it with a hammer so I had to replace the whole column I had to buy keyed column from a salvage yard how'd you get that all in there and hooked up or whatever you have to relearn the computer to that key you have to get a stopwatch and be precise start off rotate the key to the on position leave it for 30 minutes after the 30 off position for 10 seconds back on for 30 minutes rotate back for 10 seconds and one more time so 3 30 minutes on and 3 10 seconds off on the fourth time you turn it on it will start but you have to be precise with the timing you have to have a stopwatch trust me again this is a process if the security has been thrown
