Have anyone tried Byredo fragrances or candles? Thoughts?

I recommended Byredo in the comments on one of your Trudon videos. I own all Byredo candles except Rose Water (cant get it now and dont want to risk buying on Ebay for $300 bucks) I love ALL the Byredo scents but there are a few I wont buy again... Cotton Poplin, Chai and Loveless. But I have 2 and 3 of the same candles because the scents are addictive...I will always have Burning Rose, Bibliotheque, Loose Lips, Carousel and maybe Safran & Tree House in stock. I did splurge on the Cactus Jack (the Travis Scott limited edition) OMG...it is amazing. Cant get it now but if it ever shows up again, I will buy a dozen. Trudon and Byredo have the most unique scents. I also cant resist Le Labo and Diptyque. Haven't gotten into Jo Malone though.

I thought I was gonna love Loveless but changed my mind as soon as i smelled it. The rest of the scents are truly remarkable! I am still upset to this day about missing the Cactus Jack drop! lol. Hopefully it pops up so i can jump on it. You are naming all of my favorites lol. Trudon, Byredo and Le Labo are staples on my collection lol. I want to like Diptyque until i found out they use paraffin in their candles, they told me it was high quality paraffin, but just dont want to take that chance i guess.

@@DetailedDream I also dont like that Diptyque uses paraffin. I try to be careful about what I breathe. It is why I'm holding off on buying anymore Harlem candles. I was cutting the wick on my Josephine candle and could see the metal in the wick. I was very disappointed. Hopefully, they will go to 100% natural wicks in the future.

Yes I agree with Diptyque, although their Baies candle smells amazing I had no idea they were using parrafin wax until after I bought it. I went and bought the room spray instead, same scent and lasts a long time too.

Terrific review. Thanks ! Just ordered the 8.4oz., primarily based on your review. Scent description sounded like good first choice that leans masculine. I actually haven’t found a single one of their perfumes that I like, and they peform poorly and sadly don’t last for sh*t… but the candles are a different story and Tree House is among my favorites, others are Fleur Fantome and Carousel, and I sorely miss one, now sadly discontinued, called Bakers Guild, which smelled heavenly, although I’ve forgotten the notes!

I’ve just become incredibly enamored of Byredo. The throw is the best I’ve found so far, rivaling Trudon and significantly stronger than anything I’ve bought from Harlem Candle Co or Le Labo. BUT - so far I’ve burned 3 of the larger size and each has tunneled. Major bummer, but all 3 responded immediately to aluminum foil wrapper. My feeling about that is - nope, unacceptable at this price point. Then I remember that the SMALLER size of BIBLIOTHEQUE actually perfumes both floors of my 3500 sf house. Now…if they would just offer a floral that was - floral!!! Without the sharp-edged urban chic vibe - just one!! I’d be ecstatic.

I had this candle a long time ago . It was ok . I'm going to have to search for Annick Goutal candles . I had an amber candle that was so delicious & I'm not a big fan of amber . I should have bought more than one at the time . I felt the same way about a denim jacket . I wore it no matter what the weather was like & wore it until it started falling apart :)

This candle has a lovely, nostalgic scent which I love so much. However, the hot throw isn't too strong.. unless I'm doing something wrong. Your thoughts?

Usually poor hot throw happens when the wick is too large, as it throws off the temperature. As long as you're trimming the wick, the flame should slowly melt the wax which causes an amazing hot throw.

afaik byredo is owned by the same company as diptyque and they both use food grade paraffin wax. btw have you tried ds & durga candles?

Thank you for pointing that out! that's one of the reasons I don't buy Diptyque candles and i just posted a review discussing it as well. I should have gotten a second opinion on Byredo after the sales rep informed me they were 100% soy, seemed a bit fishy lol. I haven't tried DS & Durga but the notes of their candles sound phenomenal! Will definitely take a trip to their store.

I’ve gone through almost all of the Byredo candles and really fell in love with Apocalyptic. Really subtle and strange scent. Very accurate naming 🔥🌆

The problem I have with some byredo candles is how messy looking they are out of the box, the times I’ve had to clean a new candle is ridiculous at the price.

The Fleur Fantôme from Byredo is an amazing scent. It's a very green and floral candle. its i find that the floral base notes really makes this come to life with Galbanum and Heliotrope but the fresh note of Lemon Petitgrain Leaves on the top note levels out the floral of this scent very well.

@@DetailedDream that's a great suggestion. I thought I had flower bouquets everywhere in my house when I burned Flour Fantome. I think Loose Lips smells exactly like lip stick. Ive never smelled a candle like it. I LOVE it.

There’s another unbelievable lipstick fragrance from Frederic Malle called Lipstick Rose. Enchanting! Sweeter and more pronounced than Loose Lips but with a wonderful sharp green bite to it. To my nose Loose Lips has by far the weakest scent and throw of all the Byredos I’ve tried. So excited to try Fleur Fantome!
