Byron was right to admire Napoleon!........Napoleon was the only one brave enough to face down The Inquisition in 1804-08, and severly destabalize its operations in Spain and Italy. Vive Napoleon!

I seen a movie from the early 90,s called gothica it was about Lord Byron and Gabriel burnes played Byron.

Plus, with Byron's egocentric personality. I mean, the guy thought he had no bounderies and could do whatever he wanted to. That was a regular aristocrat. Look at the way he treats Fletcher (the poor man has no schedules. Servants were objects as well as women).

If someone treated me like Byron treated Fletcher I would have poisoned his 🍷 wine.

The house was huge and massive. I think after marrying they had to live all together. Under Anabella's parental supervision divorce had not occured, I think. Byron had felt as if he was at school where he had to behave. Byron would have had to learn to behave. It is like letting your little sheep in the hands of a hungry wolf with no supervision at all. But it was obvious the whole thing did not paint well. Many men marry and show their true colors after the wedding. Never have a child but after a year living together so the Devil shows itself if it will or even longer. But a year may be O.K. I know a lot of men like Byron. When a psychopath says he is evil he means it! They will never lie about that. Do not believe they will chang out of love but out of desired order and discipline. Anabella had not met a psychopath before and she did not know how to handle it. She felt he was joking. He was an alcoholic and she could not see that before the wedding.

Marrying Annabella is the worst mistake Byron made in his life--she was so self righteous and proper--the opposite of him. Where are B.'s homosexual relationships done in this video--of course glossed over. Someday there will be a REAL uncompromising movie made of his life.

windstorm1000 he was bisexual, but more into women, every rhumor about it, is about that time in greece/ottoman empire. If u dive into it, he only had women after that.

The "worst mistake" Byron made was to think that his wife would take his senseless cruelty, sadism, pettiness and violent hystrionics lying down. He underestimated her to his own detriment. Ps: It is difficult to find someone more self-righteous than Byron.

There is a sequence in Greece or Turkey in the first part and then references to it throughout the movie

We must read the story of Byron and his wife. In the present it is great for women to get an education. However we are also taking place for men to grow. I don't see them having an educated mind and heart. Women are always improving themselves and men are not. Then you are a super woman in a world of broken men that will prove hard to help as was with Lord Byron.

Indeed, "You may kiss the bride", or the more modern "You may now kiss" doesn't ever appear in the wedding liturgy. Neither does "Who gives this woman to be married to this man?", yet some people believe these are ancient traditions not to be diverted from. I keep hearing about conservative christian couples not touching each other, even a peck, before the vicar gives them permission to. It's insane.
