I have been using the msg100 for a couple of years now and love it. Had to buy 1 for each door but it was the only option for older openers. Just purchased the MSG200 for my barn because it is farther from my WiFi, I hope the antenna helps it connect at the distance it's at.

I ordered this from Amazon but was not able to connect it to HomeKit because there was no HomeKit code. I contacted Meross and they informed me that I need to purchase the MSG200HK but the “HK” version is not available in the United States right now. In your video you claimed that this would work with HomeKit even though the box did not have the HomeKit logo.

I started with a MyQ but those door sensors sucked on the non insulated doors I used to have. When I moved I switched to a sonoff 4ch diy and a couple of door sensors. Under $50 for four doors. I may put new battery backed openers in and if I do they have automation built in so I may not need my diy solution as long as it doesn’t require cloud servers.

Please share link to bracket for the sensor you used, someone else shown a similar setup with the other meross older gen garage opener. I got the MyQ but I prefer hardwire over wireless and since I use indoor and outdoor smart plugs from Meross I am looking to consolidate my apps further by replacing my MyQ with this new unit going forward.

Question for you please...on my app the picture of the door is open but the actual door garage door is closed do you know how to fix that?

Strange question: if there is a power outage to the controller does it automatically open the garage door when power is restored? I have a smart opener similar to the Nexx (but cheaper) and every time the power flickers the garage opens. Got so frustrated with that that I just unplugged it and went back to having it not internet controllable. :-(

I'm excited to get this, I will incorporate it into our Homekit Automation to do things like have carplay button in vehicle to open the door, turn on/off lights, play music or TV on AppleTVs and HomePods, send automatic notifications to my wife when I arrive, things like that

I assume you dont need the sensor for the door to open/close, i dont need the registration that the door is opened or closed....

To control non HomeKit devices look at HomeBridge and/or Hoobs. Either will allow you to control Google/Alexis devices with HomeKit. I just installed Hoobs this week and it was easy and works great. I installed the download software version, not the hardware one, as a Docker on my UnRAID server.

You idea of putting the sensor on the rail truck is awesome, it perfectly hides the wire along the rail. I saw in your post the two wires didn't actually face each other(like one is 90 degrees to the other), does it mean as long as it stayed close enough it can still work as it should?

Hey Jason I decided to start working on my NetAAp Boxes again, I got them figured - it turns out their is an old password on both systems I have, it will cost 100 per box to fix it, I will be able to hold up to 4T x 24 = 96 T x 2 drives for about 2 grand

Any idea on the voice controls with Google Home Assistant? Like, can you say "hey Google, open the garage door" and ask it to close the garage door as well? I know one unit I've looked into you have to tell it to "turn on the garage door" for it to work.

It will work, but like Apple, you need to set up a passcode on your google account that you'll have to recite any time you want to say "open the garage door." And yes, you can say "Open the garage door."

This device works but it will only operate when my phone is connected to the WiFi. I cannot get it to connect with the device when on 5G. There is some setting I'm missing because it uses the Homekit and I don't have one.

I have a Meross garage door opener (different model) and I only have one complaint, but with the app, not the device: It doesn't always give you "Door open" notifications right away. A lot of times my phone won't notify me that my garage was opened or closed until I wake the phone or get some other kind of push notification.

I'm only looking into purchasing this. But if it's anything like the Alexa issues that I have on my Android phone it might be that it's putting it to sleep. Especially in the newer Android versions. You might have to go in and change it to never sleep.

I bought this product from the original campaign and received it a few weeks back - i tried installation of sensors where you did but unfortunately my garage door dragged it off (too close ) but it works fine in the top of the door. Suggest anyone installing one also ties it on if possible as well as sticking in case it falls off (mine took several attempts before it stayed up there.). Also mine had instructions or HomeKit so I never got the Meross option of one, 2 or 3 doors which means HomeKit can’t understand that there is only one and constantly shows an obstructed warning even though there is nothing there. Suggest people set up on Meross app first then go to HomeKit. It’s also much more reliable than Siri/ Apple

If you want it to work with Apple's Home app, yes. If you are ok with the Meross app, no.

Interesting Video...issue with the sensor installation...it will work fine until the first time the door slide slams into the sensor because it over shot which they have a tendency to do from time to time....

You did good job as a addvertiser but this opener have too many security issues. No app lock so anyone have ur phone have access to ur home. No long press opener or confirming open door, no automatic closeing setup option if door left open too long. No recloseing if safety sensor get blocked which make door stop to close and then door wont close untill u close again. I had it and alot times my door get opened byself during accidental touch in pocket and i was unaware of it. Also adding to google does not work bcz google want to setup pin in meross app but in app no pin setup option except apple homekit code. So finally i pulled everything out to secure my home and family..

I don't know about this specific model, but mine doesn't. It just opens and closes the door.

Audible/Visual notice before garage door closes is a safety issue

@@whoDean I understand that is the reason they do that, but the remotes that come with the garage opener do not flash and beep when opening/closing the door. I can use the stock remote around the corner, out of sight, and still operate the door. The garage door opener already has sensors to stop when something is in the way. Seems the beep and flash should not be required.

MyQ let's you do more than one door. But doesnt let you open garage door with voice only close it. Does this one let you open by voice?

You said pricing is in the description but I didn't see the price, I even clicked the link for the product. Let me start with saying that I still follow this device because I love technology and was curious how exactly this one one. I personally have the MyQ and I think I'll stick with it. Originally, its really only good for getting packages from Amazon and not having them sit outside all day long. However, through a 3rd app [first app would be the app to control it and the second being amazon] called simple commands, I was able to give it voice controls for alexa, Google, and I believe siri too, but I personally hate apple, and I'm strictly an alexa user. So at this point MyQ can do everything this can, and more. Through that third app, I was also able to set it up with Geofencing. And with how easy it is to install the device without all those extra wires, I'm super happy with the MyQ. I don't have any problems with the opening speed, it opens pretty fast for me. But the one down fall I do have with it is the closing. Those beeps it makes is soooo annoying to me, and it only closing after the beeps do make for a decent delay. However, if I'm not home, it doesn't really annoy me, and if I am home, the button isn't hard to press, I do half the time purely out of habit. Lol Now, as I couldn't find the price, I can't say for sure, but, I believe MyQ is cheaper, especially when you get it on sale, which they do alot. UPDATE: now that I've seen the price, MyQ is definitely cheaper, especially if you wait for one of their MANY sales, you can end up getting 2 and still save money! Plus do EVERYTHING this device can do AND MORE! Plus easier and nicer set-up! Seriously, what more can you ask for???

Well I mean it didn't work very well for me. And I even said it up through simple commands. But for whatever reason it kept disconnecting from the internet which the router is like 30 ft away through drywall wall no brick or anything. And support couldn't figure it out. They couldn't even figure out why it shows up under Bluetooth as myq-err and not the last three numbers that was supposed to show. I'm not a fan of myq. I do hope they improve and get better.but thanks to Amazon as of today I returned one that I opened and used for 3 days and two of the three days I had issues where it would lose connection. the other one I didn't open and didn't care to try.

Sensor wires are plenty long enough. You just installed in the wrong place. Run longer wires to your opener instead. Given the likely tech inside, you may deal with voltage drop extending the sensor wires

Came to say the same. And the extra feature the Tailwind has that I didn't see mentioned in this review is the Tailwind can automatically open\close the garage as you come home\leave the home. Even knows which door to open\close based on which cars Bluetooth your phone is currently paired with.
