Watching this video and across the room my wife goes “that sounds like Ryan Reynolds’ voice” and now I can’t unhear it. So thank you Mr Deadpool for the helpful video 👍

Thank you very much for this video. This increased my confidence. watching comments on Amazon... lot of buyers scared a heck lot saying they need to solder the wires and all....I will give it a shot this weekend.

Thanks for the video! You convinced me to buy one myself. For what it’s worth, the second set of wires goes to the safety sensors at the bottom of the door. I have a similar setup and was able to trace one set of wires there.

Thanks for the tutorial. A lot easier to follow than the directions but I have a tendency not to follow. Sprinkle in the humor and you’ve got a subscriber DIY.

I want to install this on a gate but wondering how this will work in terms of power as there isn't a socket inside the motor casing. Any ideas?

is it possible to extend the sensor wire? and in that case what kind of wire would be needed?
@darshan.sk37 Жыл бұрын
Yes you can by splicing it. Use an 18 AWG wire and you should be fine. Although that wire looks quite long already.

If i put this in the house, does everyone that have the app get notified if a garage opens?

Can i just not connect the sensors as I dont care about the feedback when gate is open\closed .. i just need to use the app to operate it !!!
@CuriousMindCenter11 ай бұрын
I don't have this device installed, so I guess the problem is: Without the sensor, the app won't be able to tell you whether your garage door is open or closed. It is fine if you have a camera that can tell you otherwise.

Can you completely shut off the garage door and also turn it back on that way it will never open for anyone unless you activate again?
@peachparee7647 Жыл бұрын
Have you found a solution for this yet? I can't imagine what could really manage doing this other than maybe a wifi outlet. Normally Alexa's security pin should be enough
@henrytom5824 Жыл бұрын
@@peachparee7647 I haven’t figured it out yet don’t think it’s possible. Been looking to get an smart plug and Incase it in some kind of cover it can’t be easily touched and unplugged. I’m not sure yet though if the smart plug can still stay on even if it looses WiFi connectivity. Will have to try myselfe as this would be the only option for me other than the Nero’s but not sure if does what we asked above.
@peachparee7647 Жыл бұрын
@@henrytom5824 Wifi plugs disconnected from the internet will stay on and have a normal functioning on/off button still :) It sounds like you'd want a smart in-wall outlet tho. Lol I looked it up and someone on Amazon got one and also put an "extra duty" outlet cover lock on top of it. Looks like you and that person share the same idea

After my install, I found that the app door status was reversed. Indicates door closed when it's open. It should be adjustable in app, but I don't see it. Guess I'll live with it.

If you have an ADT system, I would bet that's where the other set of wires go to open and close it..

The My Q is a lot easier to set up.
@lakermark2006 Жыл бұрын
after research, My Q maybe easier to setup (which is debatable), you get a lot less value. i'd rather spend slightly more to get way more functionality (IE, auto-close after a set period of time and integration with google assistant).
