Utah fan here. Devastated, but Utah didn’t lose because of the holding call, they lost due to extremely poor offense and going scoreless in the second half. I think Utah’s defense played amazing and gave BYU fits all night, but the cougars came out with clutch plays after having not really played all that well and got that lifeline. Credit to them for capitalizing on it. It’s good to have the rivalry back.

Even back in 1984, the #1 spot was inevitable, bc BYU had 3.5 Years of being Undefeated. The NCAA's, or BCS' & its Football Bias is really unspoken, bc it is a delicate subject. How could BYU 98.5% of a bunch of White guys, defeat Black programs?

@@Sk84Life789 Bro, it was a hold. Even SNF's rules expert who has nothing to do with either team posted on Twitter that it was an obvious penalty. The real fact of the matter is that BYU was still pinned inside their own 20 and Utah's defense, who had stuffed them most every drive before, suddenly collapsed. Utah still had several chances to win the game after the penalty and blew it. The fact that even a Utah fan is admitting that makes you look even dumber

BYU fan here. That was a wild game. Thanks to Utah for some impressive competition. At halftime I was devastated that Utah was apparently having their best game of the year against us. Crowd was amazing, too, a difference maker for Utah so well done to their fans. Rose looked really good and seemed like the best QB of the season for Utah. Refs made a couple bad calls that went both ways. That holding call at the end saved BYU. It wasn't an unfair call, but it came a such a critical time I can totally understand Utah fans being upset. It was some of the worst offensive football you'll ever bear witness to. BYU should drop out of the top 25 after tonight. There never should have been any Big 12 teams ranked to begin with. The conference doesn't have a single impressive win. BYU's signature win is against SMU, another overachieving mid-major. Sorry, but I know that ESPN is contractually obliged to BYU since the Cougars left the Mountain West, but it's time for the WW leader to consider rescinding those television rights if this is the best football BYU can offer.

To anyone who thinks the refs tipped it in BYU’s favor: 1. The replay showing the hold on 4th & 10 was about the most clear and obvious hold I’ve ever witnessed - but should it have just been a no-call since it was so far away from the ball? Absolutely NOT because that hold completely obstructed a key receiver from getting open on a game-defining play. 2. The refs called TONS of stuff against BYU the entire game. 3. The face mask call on BYU right before the half was a HUGE incorrect call in favor of Utah - it looked like a face mask at full speed, but the slowed down replay showed extremely clear angles of Glasker not touching the helmet even a little bit. That call was a 25 yard difference for Utah that easily could have made the drive not result in a TD. Lucky Utes. 4. BYU should have gotten the chance to kick a field goal before the half, but the refs called the 10-second run-off ending the half. On the review though, it showed the offsides flag being thrown with the clock at 12 seconds, which means BYU should have had the chance to kick with 2 seconds left. BYU played sloppy and coaches made a ton of mistakes - but the refs made some critical errors that could have cost BYU the game.

Ever since our very first game with him on the staff 6 frickin' years ago, we've had to burn 1 (or MORE) timeouts to avoid a delay of game penalty. I have no clue why or how in the world it somehow has not been fixed yet, but it takes FOREVER for the play call to get to the offense. The officiating was poor. However, it was poor both ways. Phantom facemask call against byu. Roughing the passer when BYU defender gave Ute QB a slight love tap. Utah called for a late hit on BYU QB when the defender was pulling up. The head of that officiating crew came with Utah from the PAC12. The Cougars won that game. They played a full 60 minutes (and many of those minutes were played poorly.) Utah defense quit after the 4th quarter defensive holding call.

@@phillipcook3430look at how their coach and AD responded after the game. No class
@grouchyjudgeКүн бұрын
@@phillipcook3430 No, they definitely possess a ton of arrogance and entitlement. They never wanted to join the Big 12. Their AD scoffed at it like it was beneath him until the Pac imploded and the Big 12 was the only conference to throw them a lifeline. Then their coach still acts like they're too good to be here and openly says that he doesn't think they're going to be in the conference for very long (he may not be wrong just because of the game's chaotic landscape right now, but it's still a weird thing to say right after joining the league). Utah's coaches and administration clearly wanted a B1G invite and are pissed they have to be in the Big 12. They thought they would dominate it just by coasting and got slapped in the face. What's the most baffling part of their pride is the fact that that they actually haven't done much as a program. Their two unbeaten seasons were amazing, yes, but that's just what got them to the Power 5. Then they made it to the Rose bowl twice, yes, but both of those seasons they had at least 3 regular season losses and they haven't sniffed the CFP. They have acted like they belong with the sport's blue-bloods but they haven't come anywhere near deserving it. They've gotten arrogant for no reason and it's contributed to their downfall
