What is the purpose of using null pointer? if we don’t initialise a pointer and dereference ,the program will crash but same is the case with null pointer too if we dereference it program will crash then what is the benefit of initialising with null? so this means that anytime you have just initialized a pointer it is best to make it null

*BUT IF THE POINTER CONTAINS GARBAGE THEN HOW IF STATEMENT WILL WORK?* - the NULL macro is used to initialize the pointer when we use the if statement to check for pointer == NULL. If we do it the other way like pointer != NULL then we can check the garbage pointer instead without the need to initialize. Or we can initialize inside the if statement only when it's not equal to NULL, which is a garbage variable.
