Not many people know that Jessi started as a singer & that Hwasa is a rapper as well she used to rap sometimes in the early days of mamamoo or for features on other people's songs but now she just does it in her solos

hwasa isn't really a rapper to be honest. never was. She did some rap parts, but that doesn't make you a rapper ....because frankly, she wasn't really any good at it. Hence why they had moonbyul do all the rapping since.

Hwasa is a decent rapper, it just that her singing is obviously better and it would be a waste if not utilized more, so she was given less and less rap parts and more vocal parts. Moonbyul wasn't a rapper in the beginning too. She auditioned as a vocalist, not a rapper. Between Moonbyul and Hwasa, it was more logical to give the rap parts to Moonbyul since Hwasa was the better vocalist.
