For some reason I can't seem to directly reply to the last comment (no reply button). You can't directly update the progress bar from the DoWork method since it runs on a different thread. I cover a couple different techniques for getting around this involving delegates and the Invoke method --- in fact if you keep watching this series (105, 106, etc. I get into one of the techniques). Hope this helps.

I have a program I never made any videos about that makes extensive use of MySql interfacing from a backgroundWorker (esp. INSERTs) so I don't think that's any kind of an issue.

cyborgmagus If you go to the office tab on my webpage and click the playlist 8 button about background worker it ties these videos together nicely. I have several videos on an alternate technique but I don't think I've uploaded them yet.
