C-Frame Motors

Could someone explain the difference between a cframe rated at 120v versus one rated a 240v the look identical and some are rated 120v/240v

why does the motor have 3 wires coming out of it?

The white wire coming out of the motor is the common lead. any other wire for that particular application are your wires for the speeds of the motor.
