Instead of making the light bulb smart, they should make the switch smart. Light bulbs wear out but the switch lasts a long time. You could also make the switch more robust than a bulb and able to be access through your internet connection.

When you say you have to be in Bluetooth range for the color change to work, do you mean at the time specified? Like let’s say I want a color change at 6pm but I get home at 6:15 and am connected to Bluetooth. Will the color change automatically? Or do I have to be in Bluetooth range at the specified time (ie I must be connected at 6pm or it won’t work)
@biggusdickkus29563 жыл бұрын
Well obviously l would say, it can't send the command to the bulbs if its not in range.

50 dollars for 4 thats $12.50 each. You can get a Phillips hue bulb with bluetooth for the same amount. Plus they will work with alexa.

2/5 rating on amazon for a reason. Got 20 on black friday. 7 for 20 worked. Returned 12, got 4 of those 12 to work. Returning all 20 now. They may sync the first time but make sure you try to re-synce every bulb you intend to keep. I am in a 800ish sq ft townhome with 2 google homes so everything is within blutooth range. You have been warned, simply see amazon reviews. My guess is blutooth lights will phase out quickly, you will only be able to trust wifi bulbs.

Do ordinary light dimmers and switches really deserve to become obsolete? Then when you have no access to the app or website, you cannot control the lights? Or am I just exaggerating since these smart bulbs could simply be an extension to the ordinary light switches? (where they be could be controlled in both ways)

_EXACTLY!_ You concerns are NOT unfounded and they also apply to pretty much everything else that's IoT/app/"cloud" based. The perceived greatness and success of the recent slow shift away from storing information locally as well as *requiring* network access to do just about ANYTHING is 100% based on the fallacy that network access is ALWAYS available. That's been true thus far, but MARK MY WORDS - At some point there WILL be a widespread infrastructure failure of some type (cascade failure after a satellite collision, regional blackout, etc.) and everyone who stores ALL their information online and hinges their ability to function on having relaible network connectivity - is going to be F**KED. It's all just a matter of time...

👎👎 Why don't you guys make a video on your latest Android interface app for your smart lights. When I first installed your app and configured the lights a small learning curve which was just fine, the app allows you to see all your lights at one time whether they were on or off. Now you have lights are nested in groups which totally sucks, who was the Einstein behind this brilliant idea. I no longer use your app as an interface because you've changed it from user-friendly to not-friendly ! But there was an easy fix for this I use the Alexa app or the Google Home app, just to let you know these apps allow you to see all devices running or not all at one time, "what a relief - they had the common sense to make their app user-friendly" I would get rid of get rid of the dumb dumb who made the final decision to go in the direction guys are headed before you lose more of your marketing base to other smart light companies.
