A really good module today. A dual sequencer from Division-6. Obviously having 2 seqs. in one is great, and this unit is probably the best eurorack build I’ve done. Will definitely be building more from Division 6
Highly recommended.

Hooray, I finally finished building this. I had 1 bad solder joint on a white LED, and one solder bridge that caused several pairs of LEDs to light as a pair (4+5 and 11+12 on the top row, for example). I was happy to find it was all caused by one bridge. One of the knurled slotted nuts wouldn't tighten on its jack - turned out it had a split in it, at one of the slots. Fixed by using pink hex nuts for the CV outputs. I tried to clean the PCB, after the jacks and buttons were installed, using TechSpray and a toothbrush, then IPA to make it less sticky. Maybe I should have done neither, or at least done it before the switches were installed. A few of the buttons wouldn't register clicks reliably. So I sprayed contact cleaner on them and exercised them repeatedly, and now they're working reliably. I did have to follow the steps for "If it's only doing 3 octaves rather than 5, the chip thinks it's in the Business Card synthesizer, so at power-up or reset, hold down the D and E notes to set it straight."

Interesting. I've built 2 of 'em and they've had the correct firmware. And yeah, hardware can be a challenge. A kit I built about 3 months ago had one screw that was unthreaded, and a nut that was similarly unthreaded. I didn't notice until after I had fought with them for a few minutes, no one expects unthreadedness....

Thanks for the video! I have this kit & will try to build it this week. I just got started (NiftyBundle 6 days ago), and I built a couple of trivial kits…but this one will be my first kit wider than 2HP.

This is a great kit for soldering proficiency, so many LEDs and buttons. And in the end it is a really useful tool, I use it daily.

Oh, and does the NiftyBundle come with a bill of materials, otherwise known as a NiftyList? (inside joke folks)

The “Nifty” in the name may indeed have influenced my purchase decision.

C. K., do you use this often? I think it’s really nice.
@CKHaun
@CKHaun 2 жыл бұрын
Almost every single day. I might not use it in a song always, but it is the easiest thing (for me) to set up a patch or series of patches, or test new gear, or experiment. A very useful thing. Did you build yours yet?

Time flies…I finally spent some more time on this kit, and I’ve gotten as far as placing all the LEDs, but haven’t soldered them yet. Q: Does it matter which end of the spacer goes toward the LED body?
@CKHaun
@CKHaun 2 жыл бұрын
Doesn't technically matter. I personally put the semi-closed end against the base of the LED and the fully open end against the PCB. I do that because it's sightly easier for me to thread the leads of the LED through the holes when they are closer at the start.

@simonburns1055 I think you mean the pink solder jig, right? That’s from Austin Ribbon Mics in Austin, Texas, USA. Very handy, here’s a link to their page diyribbonmic.com/hotholder/
