How non-compliance hindering leather industry growth
‘নন-কমপ্লায়েন্স’ এর কারণে দেশের চামড়া ও চামড়াজাত পণ্যের রপ্তানি প্রবৃদ্ধি আশাব্যঞ্জক নয়। অধিকাংশ কারখানায় কেন্দ্রীয় বর্জ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং বর্জ্য পরিশোধন প্লান্ট না থাকায় বাংলাদেশ থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিচ্ছেন, বিদেশি ক্রেতা ও বিনিয়োগকারীরা। অথচ, দেশের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম রপ্তানি আয়ের উৎস এ খাতটির রয়েছে অপার সম্ভাবনা। চামড়া শিল্পের বিশ্ববাজার ৩২০ বিলিয়ন ডলার হলেও গত অর্থবছরে বাংলাদেশের রপ্তানি আয় ছিল ১.২২ বিলিয়ন ডলার। আগের বছরের চেয়ে যা ১.৭৪% কম।

ঢামড়ার ব্যবসা ৪/৫ জন শিল্পপতির হাতে জিম্মি/ চামড়া শিল্পকে বাঁচাতে ১মে সিন্ডিকেট ভেঙ্গে দিতে হবে/ ২য় ব্লু করা চামড়া রপ্তানি করার সুযোগ দিতে হবে তাহলে চামড়া শিল্পকে বাঁচানো যাবে

চামড়া শিপ্লের জন্য বড় বাধা বা অন্তরায় হচ্ছে "liberal minded" না হওয়া,আমরা "liberal minded" হলেই এটা সম্ভব,যদিও মেয়েরা আগের থেকে এখন অনেক টাই "liberal minded" হয়েছে,তবে আরো হওয়া দরকার,তাহলেই এই বাধা কাটিয়ে উঠা সম্ভব,একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় নিয়ে আপনাদের আলোচনা ও সুচিন্তিত মতামত সত্যিই প্রশংসার দাবি রাখে।

শুধু ঢাকায় চামড়া শিল্প কেন? কেন চামড়া শিল্প ইউনিট ঢাকার বাইরে অনুপস্থিত? কেন এটি চট্টগ্রাম, খুলনা, রাজশাহী, রংপুর, বরিশাল প্রভৃতি অঞ্চলে স্থাপন করা গেল না যাতে ওই অঞ্চল থেকে সংগ্রহ করা চামড়া সেখানে প্রক্রিয়াজাত করা যায়? কেন বাংলাদেশের সব জায়গা থেকে চামড়া প্রক্রিয়াকরণের জন্য ঢাকার সাভারে নিয়ে যাওয়া হচ্ছে? ঢাকার বাইরে চামড়া শিল্প স্থাপিত হলে পরিবেশগত সমস্যা আরও সহজে সমাধান করা যেত এবং আন্তর্জাতিক সনদ অর্জন করা সম্ভব হতো। Why leather industry based only in Dhaka? Why leather inudstry units are absence out of Dhaka. Why it could not be set up in Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Rongpur, Barishal etc. so that leather skin collected from that regions could be processed in there? Why skin from all parts of Bangladesh are being carried in Savar, Dhaka for processing? If leather industry were set up outside the Dhaka then environmental issues could be solved more easily and it would be possible to achieve international certification.
