Che gioia ascoltare giovani che, nel terzo millennio, amano eseguire musica di questo genere...

i had a beloved bolognese dog named Rocco and we loved this song. i picked it as his song because my dog loved nothing more than sitting in the grass on a warm spring day and squinting at the sun and feeling the breeze in his ears. we spent so many days together in my garden enjoying the fresh air and getting our ankles wet in the morning dew while waiting for sun to rise. he was a beautiful white dog and i called him my cloud. three days ago my precious dog was struck and killed by a distracted driver in a horrific accident. when it was all over i came home from the vet and stopped to pick up some of the things i had left outside in my rush to get him to the pet hospital, and the sky opened up and it started pouring heavy sheets of rain. but the day after was a beautiful temperate summer day and i know my cloud sent me a gorgeous day to live in to make the first day without him a little bit easier. so i laid down and listened to this song and thought about all the impossibly soft, simple, but luxurious days we spent together in his almost 12 years of life. he would have been 12 on june 22. i will always think of my sweet cloud when i hear this joyful song.

+marko peelo, I now live in Idaho Falls, ID USA. I just moved here from Portland, OR where I was the Cantor and Bass Soloist for Trinity Cathedral for 34 years. There is no outlet for my talent here in Idaho. I make do by listening to others perform early music which my training was in. Thank goodness for KZbin. Unfortunately, even London is beyond my reach at this time. Thank you for responding to my comment. I shall listen to some of your favorites. Now I know why I couldn't see things when on the ipad. I went into a small independent music shop in the UK and Christina Pluhar was playing. Bought the album there and then. I had a former student who wrote an entire doctoral theory dissertation on the *rhythm* of this madrigal. I thought that was totally insane until I saw the score and realized that driving bass line is not notated as you hear it. What we hear as the offbeat--the third beat in a three-beat meter--is written as the downbeat. So there's a complex interaction between the perceived pulse and the written one. So her dissertation was not as crazy as I thought, though still pretty nuts. And BTW, I listen to this performance all the time. I've loved this madrigal for years, and this one is something quite special.

Overwhelming. Catalan soprano Nuria Rial shows always happy. She seems to sing more for herself than for others. Perhaps that's why she doesn't need the vibratos that other interpreters abuse of.
@honeychurchgipsy64 жыл бұрын
Baltadar Caubet - yes she certainly seems to enjoy performing and that adds to the pleasure we get when listening/watching. I am not familiar with much early Baroque vocal music but I would imagine that it doesn't want too much (if any) vibrato: a clean sound is what we get here and it suits the music perfectly.

The text painting is so wonderful you should read the translation. ENGLISH VERSION: Return O Zephyr, and with gentle motion Make pleasant the air and scatter the grasses in waves And murmuring among the green branches Make the flowers in the field dance to your sweet sound; Crown with a garland the heads of Phylla and Chloris With notes tempered by love and joy, From mountains and valleys high and deep And sonorous caves that echo in harmony. The dawn rises eagerly into the heavens and the sun Scatters rays of gold, and of the purest silver, Like embroidery on the cerulean mantle of Thetis. But I, in abandoned forests, am alone. The ardour of two beautiful eyes is my torment; As my Fate wills it, now I weep, now I sing.
