At 1:57 of the video, the mainline splits off to the right and then there is a turnout. The train always takes the left main, where does the other main go and where does the track that comes off of that turnout go?

So that train is heading EB, the other main that splits off to the right is the WB main. CNW is left hand main running. It loops around the peninsula and rejoins the EB main after it crosses Clayton River. The turnout that comes off of that WB main that splits off to the right is one of the entrances to the helix. If you watch the Layout Tour video, I show an overview of this area from both sides. It was created like that so that it wouldn't just be a 2 track mainline around the whole layout. This gave the opportunity to have single track main in 2 areas, therefore breaking up the monotony of all the track looking the same.
