C&O 614T, Fantastic Echoing Whistle in New River Gorge, WV ACE-3000 Project testing. 1/11/1985

Thanks for watching. Sorry about the quality of this old 8mm sound movie film, and the light snow falling that day didn't help at all either. But 614's echoing whistle sure sounded great.
Had this old film laying around for years, as I can't fined anyone to restore and digitalize old 8mm sound film. So I tried to clean it up the best I could. I thought that this would be of interest to some.
The ACE project "American Coal Enterprises", was a bust. Several artist had renderings of what a modern day coal powered locomotive would look like. The ACE-3000 was just one of those. The first several cars behind the C&O 4-8-4 Greenbrier was maned and watched the test equipment. 614T ran loaded coal out of Huntington WV, to Hinton and returned with empties out of Hinton the next day.
Movie was taken with a Kodak Ektasound 8mm movie outfit.

I was in 5th grade that winter. Still remember this very well. A few years later I got to ride an excursion pulled by 614. I still have my Video Rails VHS copy of this my dad got. Awesome memories. 🇺🇸
