Great and helpful video!! This should have a lot more attention, but unfortunately long videos aren't as popular as the short ones. Most people want some quick enlightenment. But for the people (like me) who really have to deal with this stuff in their professional life, detailed introductions, like this one, are gold. So thank you even more for taking your time on these topics!

Accidentally stumbled upon your video while looking for an overview of C++ Package Manager, and I really liked it. Some people complain about the size of the video, but I can easily see how one minute of your video can save me half an hour of Googling. Nice work! One small thing, do not make unnecessary movements, like selecting/deselecting random stuff with a mouse, it is a bit annoying.

I think there is a place for detailed videos and I liked this one. The problem which maybe the other two comments saw is the video title. I thought about a simple video explaining what a package manager is and which problems it solves. As I saw the video length I was quite confused. Maybe a more fitting title would be something like "C++ Package Manager - A DETAILED introduction to CONAN". So people who click on the video expect as much information as you gave us. The video itself is fine to me. But I can only say that about speech, speed and so on as I dont know about Conan or Package Managers. Why would I watch a video like this if I knew about this stuff XD

Hi! First of all I'd like to say thank you for all the videos you are making. I am new into C++ and just started working with a few tutorials and having a basic understanding on how to do simple stuff, so this might not be the type of video I should be watching right now at my level. I got stuck at 19:00, I always get that I have no profile and I have no idea how to create it, I am not sure if I did something wrong. I installed Conan through Python, and did the same steps as the video. Also, do I have to download/install Premake?

This video is no longer relevant because Conan changed a lot of stuff when they released 2.0. There is a new video (linked in the description) that shows how this works with 2.0 an newer.

Hi. Thank you for tutorial. I didnt get why premake is panacea for building VS solutions? I mean cmake with -G "Visual studio 16 2019" option would also generate VS sln files...

how to install package offline?

I don't think that is possible. Conan need to download the source or binarys from the internet. It is possible to spin up your own package repository (jfrog.com/blog/announcing-jfrog-artifactory-community-edition-c-c/). However I don't know if the server supports importing project from conan. But you might be able to find the packages recipie and safe it on your server. But you would also need to make a copy of the source to get a real offline install.

Remember, if you do a video to explain a useful tool, do never apply you demands, I.e. to make a short video. Better is to think about the audience. Many might not be native English speaker, and share your level of experience. Thus think about speaking slower, clearly and give the audience some breaks to think and understand. I understand, that this is difficult and a challenge. You have no feedback by looking into the eyes of the audience. Therefore it is even more important to think about one question, do you make this video for you or others? And do you want to explain SW developers devops or a nice and handy tool ..... and quote "... and and and so on ..." are irrelevant informations. Keep people focus on the matter, not the environment. Last veries, but in common to every listener is, they want to use the tool.
