Meiyazhagan is the only 3 hours movie that I was totally surprised to see the "Intermission" card. I didn't even feel 1.5 hours already passed. I was not even bored for a minute in the movie. It was too good! 3 hours was really not enough for me.

My interpretation of the movie: If Aravindswamy's father bought the house just like Karthi did for his wife, then Aravindswamy's character and life trajectory would have mirrored Karthi's. Aravindswamy opens up to and confides in Karthi because, in a sense, Karthi represents another version of Aravindswamy. By conversing with Karthi, Aravindswamy is in a way talking to a parallel version of himself. Aravindswamy couldn't initially identify with or fully accept this "other version" of himself, as he still harbored some unresolved feelings of resentment or vengeance. However, once he confronts his own guilt, he becomes ready to forgive, which immediately allows his true self, "Meiyazhagan", to emerge. The ability to see and connect with this parallel version of himself, and ultimately reconcile with it, represents a significant moment of self-discovery and growth for Aravindswamy's character.

If you have a happy childhood you are lucky. All I have is my memories being molested by one of my relatives and just hate it. It has also been hard to respect certain relatives in the family. I never like to revisit this chapter of my life. But today I am peaceful with a matured husband and beautiful child. That’s why I sometimes cannot connect with people who talk so much about their childhood and I feel like I have nothing to contribute.

Life is not the same for everyone....ppl who have good memories wanna go back...those who have bad memories dont wanna go back.... such is life...nature is brutal...humans are part of nature..they can be brutal too...dont feel bad that you are not able to contribute....life was not fair to you...its unfair for us to expect you to have pleasant nostalgia of your unpleasant past...glad you have healed...take care!

There is something called disassociation linked with deep emotional trauma. This is similar to you running away from pain, in order to avoid it. This could be pain of being loved as well as fear of failure. Fear of future trauma, and your brain will try to avoid it, at any cost. For a city dweller, it is convenient, to get immersed in daily hassle. Which is what Arvind Swami did. The last phone call between Karthi and Arvind is more of a therapy session, without naming it so😊

One suggestion to benefit users like me., Make ONE spoiler/interview collab for a film with Sudhir, BR and Kakki's Karthick compile a 3 part series. Upload each part in their youtube channels. Bring it on ICU. Interview Cinematic Universe :)

Mr interviewer, this director shamelessly promoted adolescent love in 96. Spoiling the school going kids. All he is after is money, doesn't have any clue about the damaging impact on the society. So many shameless supporters as well.

I could relate to that smell!🥲 I was really young when we sold our grandmother's home, but some how I remember the smell each room had. Like u said there was a store room where they stored all the grains and they would ripen the fruits there.. I can relate to these a lot... Maybe that is why Meiazhagan so close to my heart.
