Better than psychology! His exegesis of the psalms and how some of them touch the experience of the "Dark Night of the Flesh" astounds me. It's as if I'm reading, in fact witnessing again, the causes of my own suffering. So comforting.

This great man literally explained the entire "woke" movement. Our only hope is nothing is allowed on earth that God cannot over come and as bleak as the current world seems, it will not stand. A Christian's duty is to hold until relieved for we have no power on our own but only by Jesus!

What does this have to do with the "woke movement"?

@@christophersnedeker2065 The “Woke” movement are the enemies of God and Christ. They do the work of their Father, their father is not The Father. They have neither the Son nor the Father, therefore they have confusion. In their arrogance they believe us to be the simple and confused. They do not realise it is through them and their unbelief that we will be glorified. See here: “Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.’ And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So the Israelites did this.” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:2-4‬ ‭ And see here: “May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭35:26‬ ‭

Insolence of office... Shakespeare named it in Hamlet for us to know. But it is the same Hamlet - the modern victim as well as the tyrant - by whom we hear the frightfull and fraughtfull expression: Time is out of joint. Oh cursed spite that I was born to set it awright! Methinks I can see tears in the eyes of C.S. Lewis. May God rest his soul and may we keep his memory alive.

Not a theologian; just another human Soul. A few things stand out to me as incredibly relevant to our current situation. Firstly, his clear lines of demarcation between the states of consciousness represented by the Old Testament vs the New Testament (this distinction has been on my mind lately, after considering that the PRE-Christian world - is the subject of the OT, and the Way, The Truth & The Light are represented by the NT) The Reign of Moses: LAW JUSTICE RIGOR The Reign of Christ: GRACE MERCY TENDERNESS He likens the voices of the OT to those of children: ignorant, self-righteous, utterly without the ability to self-reflect. Perfectly certain that they are pure and worthy of Divine Intervention...Demanding that God smite their enemies with horrid and disgustingly vicious curses, unto their children's children. In contrast, he hears the voices of the NT begging assistance to gain self-control, for the ability to extend mercy to our enemies even in the face of horrendous wrongdoing. He likens the oppression of tyrants to seductions/temptations - not to the sexual misconduct so often associated with these words, but as temptations to descend into our own primal states of total hatred and lack of mercy toward those who wrong us. Tempting us to MORAL misconduct that 'ensavages', rather than enobles us. Who has not felt the tug of this seduction? I certainly wrestle with it daily. He also clarifies the difference between the Dark Night of the Soul and the Dark Night of the Flesh - many of the Psalmists were pleading for relief from their bodily and political sufferings. This is the suffering of the Flesh, and a plea to remedy it. Those who endure the Dark Night of the Soul are pleading for relief from their own Spiritual Sins - and perhaps the difference between the two is precisely what distinguishes the childish idea of 'justice' from the mature one. The Troubles we currently endure are designed precisely to elicit the fear, hatred and lust for retribution that characterize our basest impulses. They are satanically inspired seductions, engineered to prompt the Great Outrage that leads to ultimate violence. I do not know how to navigate these times properly, but I suspect that this is a TEST in the fundamental sense of the word: How we conduct ourselves in the face of the ultimate desecration of all we hold dear - this is our choice. It's clear to me that those who experience the Dark Night of the Flesh and demand instant redress of wrongs, here and now, are better served by the summoning of demonic entities. Enlisting Spiritual Mercenaries to smite one's enemies is indeed the most PRAGMATIC response to oppression. (To my mind, satanism/luciferianism can be summed up as dedication to the most expedient solutions to all difficulties, unencumbered by Grace, Mercy or Tenderness) On the other hand, I stumble in the darkness when it comes to what the correct response to all this filth SHOULD truly be - are we to focus only on our own shortcomings, ignoring the vile menace to our families, communities, the very existence of humanity? What say you? What is the appropriate response? How do we conduct ourselves so as to NOT succumb to the seductions?

Indeed, this is a strong case, and an even more important question. Thank you for writing this all out, even though it's been seven months. I'm sorry if you forgot about this comment at all. I would like to ask one clarifying question though. When you talk about enemies we need smited or evil coming at our families, are you imagining the dark night of the flesh, or the dark night of the soul? As our LORD said in Matthew, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matt 10:28). It seems to me, in the Christian faith, that we cannot deal with both dark nights at the same time. By Dark Night of the Soul, I mean the constant sanctification process for our entire lives, where we come to a better understanding of God's love and our own unworthiness. That focus puts our view of ourselves, and of God, in the exact opposite direction than we would have if we were to focus on Lewis' Dark Night of the Flesh. Lewis pointed out in his essay that we see the injustice of our superiors, but could it be just as likely that our inferiors see it in us? When it comes to what we do in the Dark Night of the Soul, I think God word gives a comprehensive view; faith, humility, and hope. For the Dark Night of the Flesh, I think the best solution would be the exact same. Sorry if this came out of nowhere. God bless you!

He is NOT a Christian because he rejects the authority of the God's Word. He does not believe that the prophets of the old testament were inspired by the most Holy Himself. He didn't even believe man was a created being despite the Bible clearly stating this. He was a typical pseudointellectual, humanist snob who attached himself to Christianity to advance his gnostic agenda and I tire of him being peddled as a Christian.

You can be a person of deep personal Faith but not what anyone would call 'religious'. I have followed the Guidelines of Problacism for many years and consequently I have been given everything I could possibly ever need or want. I also don't suffer from any anxieties, fears or depression. Problacism does not require any prayer, churches, iconoclasm or worship. All it requires is that you lose all your ego and indiscriminately help everyone who is 'sent' to you without any expectation of recognition or reward. Trust in the Universe and be Relentless.

All of our more well-known Psalms were rewritten or adapted and translated into English by Sir Francis Bacon during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Sir Francis Bacon was also charged with the enormous task of organizing the translation known as The King James Bible, and also the production and distribution of all of the works attributed to William Shakespeare. This is why many of the Psalmes have a poetic Shakespearian ring to them, and also fit so easily within the King James Bible. The entire work was done at approximately the same time by a similar group of authors, poets, theologians, and mystics all working with a common aim in mind. This being the creation of a modern and accepted historical and religious narrative, as well as establish what is now known as a universally accepted and recognized English Language.

CS Lewis unflinchingly reflects on injustices white men have committed against red, brown, black and yellow men. Unfortunately, today most evangelicals try to erase, deny, or sugarcoat history.

I love C. S. Lewis, but in this essay we see his low view of Scripture and misunderstanding of the relationship of the two testaments. More seriously, he did not seem to understand that God's love of the good implies His hatred of the evil. The psalmists were not vindictive barbarians, as he alleges. Their hatred of God's enemies mirrors God's own hatred. Christianity is not an advance over the Hebrews' religion in respect to theology or morality; but in the fulness of its revelation and the fulfilment of its types, figures and symbols.

Why did God hate Esau? Why does God hate any man? I defy anyone to give any answer but this, because that man deserves it; no reply but that can ever be true. There are some who answer, divine sovereignty; but I challenge them to look that doctrine in the face. Do you believe that God created man and arbitrarily, sovereignly-it is the same thing-created that man, with no other intention, than that of damning him? Made him, and yet, for no other reason than that of destroying him for ever? Well, if you can believe it, I pity you, that is all I can say: you deserve pity, that you should think so meanly of God, whose mercy endureth for ever. You are quite right when you say the reason why God loves a man, is because God does do so; there is no reason in the man. But do not give the same answer as to why God hates a man. If God deals with any man severely, it is because that man deserves all he gets. In hell there will not be a solitary soul that will say to God, O Lord, thou hast treated me worse than I deserve! But every lost spirit will be made to feel that he has got his deserts, that his destruction lies at his own door and not at the door of God; that God had nothing to do with his condemnation, except as the Judge condemns the criminal, but that he himself brought damnation upon his own head, as the result of his own evil works. Justice is that which damns a man; it is mercy, it is free grace, that saves; sovereignty holds the scale of love; it is justice holds the other scale. Who can put that into the hand of sovereignty? That were to libel God and to dishonour him. C. H. Spergeon Lord, if I be not of your elect and am damned let it be myself that I blame and not thee, let me know that you are true, even if everyone, myself included be a liar. You granted even the prayer of the devils to go into the swine, I ask you to grant my prayer that whatever happens I will be able to believe that you're rightous, for it is to me a worse thing then any hell of physical torment to believe that God is unrighteous, or "beyond good and evil".

It has nothing to do with human emotions. It was a matter of selection. God chose Jacob, just as He chose Abraham over others. And it could have said He hated every one else.
