Two great razors it's the second MK.No.8 and they are just as good as any MK.31 I've had, a truly great grind/steel and a super shave from both razors. The MK.No.8 has a really nice box as well, the red pops nice still

Interesting side by-side comparison, I seem to remember seeing a catalogue of Heljstrand razors listing all their models on the internet. Children are always fascinated by what their parents are doing and want to emulate them to a degree but that disappears rapidly when they become teenagers! 😁👍

I've been waiting to get a No.8 in for this reason, I've had quite a few no model Heljestrand razors that are basically the same razor as a Mk.31 but without the thumb notch, everyone wants a thumb notch though and why not. The No.8 is a exceptional razor the grind is something else. Both are great shavers as you would expect.

Friodur by J A Henckels is the only ones I've had & I've got a soft spot for Henckels. I know Puma & Dovo have got a good rep but they are all bit pricey. I think a lot of the stainless for razors from Germany came from the Henckels plant as they were one of the first to really nail the cyro process..

Lovely C.V. Heljestrands , hard steel 💪 I do find most Heljestrand blades a little too small for me . Lovely in their original cases 😍. Your Mk 8 is a better size ? 4 days is my maximum without a shave , I get withdrawal symptoms 😅 , I'll shave tomorrow James and mention your excellent channel 👍.

Yeah I'm the same, the MK.30 I shaved with the other day was to small. A full sized MK.31 is nice but I prefer 6/8 and upwards. They certainly did nice cases the MK.8 has one, it's a a smidge under 6/8's and feels a big bigger than that to use I think the square toe gives the impression of a bigger razor. I went even longer (7 days) in my new video, getting busy with work and life the last few weeks, I can honestly say I've not gone 7 days for a very long time indeed and I felt rough and was clucking for a shave, was all the better when I did though was marvellous..
