Here is how I make the broth for the kow piek sen (chicken noodle soup). I was holding the camera myself because my cameraman wasn't available until it was time to eat. :)
The Sen Kowpiek video is here: • C/w Nana: Rice Noodles...

Oh my Gosh I'm so happy I found you on KZbin! I miss my parents cooking soooo much I live 4 hours away from them. I don't know any Lao food recipes. Well some... But it's not as good as moms and pops you know? I'm a visual learner and so when I call my mom and ask how to make something it just doesn't turn out as good. Now that I found your channel i can make more things! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for this. I haven't had kowpiek sen in forever. I will try this myself soon. I just don't understand when people put sugar in their food. I don't see it as much on Lao people as I do with Thai people. Like sugar in dum mak hu g is just a crime. Mom mever used sugar in anything unless it's a dessert. Lol. Looks so delicious can't wait to try it.

Wow! It looks delicious. I've been craving for kowpiek sen for so long but don't want to bother my grandmother to make it since she says it's a lot of work :( but now I want to try cooking for her as well as the family after watching this video of yours (as well as the yummy others) thank you so much for sharing your recipes. :D Usually when my grandmother cooks it though she just dumps the whole noodles in the broth and it becomes thick and, well, not so clear...I like your way better lol.

+Der Xiong Depends on the flavors you are looking for. You could use lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves, but they all taste gingery to me. Try it with or without or with all three. It's going to be good anytime you cook like this isn't it?

Why do you boil the noodles all at once. That ruins the texture of the Khao Piek Sen and makes it soggy. My family usually wait and boil it until it's ready to be eaten.
@CookingwithNana
@CookingwithNana 9 жыл бұрын
i only boiled as much as needed to serve people who are ready to eat. Does your family make the noodles the same way as mine? They don't get soggy that fast, but I agree that it's best to boil when people are ready to eat.
@tylerratt
@tylerratt 9 жыл бұрын
Yes. Exactly! I meant, it gets too soft not soggy.
