I have a 2011 Impala. For years, on occasion when making a hard left from a stop, the Anti-lock will kick in for a second, even on a dry road. It never threw a code or warning. Lately though, it throws the triple warning (Stabiltrak, Brake Assist, and Traction control). The warnings go away upon a restart. Until it happens again, sometimes days/weeks later, and only on left turns. I'm sure I need this service done. Thanks for showing.

Great video! I was wondering couldn't you just have soldered the broken wire back together instead of purchasing a new harness?
@jeremyb44933 жыл бұрын
Not a good idea because if the wire is already damaged/broken in 1 place, it could easily be fatigued, corroded or already broken in other places. Plus the repair/splice kits aren't expensive and no one likes wasting more time and money having to fix the same issue more than once.
@cdarnau3 жыл бұрын
You could. But it normally breaks in the loop so if you were going to do replace it I would replace about 6in of the wire and solder it in.

How much should I expect to pay to have this repaired? Do you recommend taking it to a Chevrolet dealership or a local auto shop?
@cdarnau10 ай бұрын
You should look at about 2 hours of labor at a dealership or shop to do this repair. So whatever their labor rate is X2.

How did you know what side it was broken on? It’s winter In Michigan and gunna tear into mine very soon, is each code for a different side? Also couldn’t you have gotten away with just putting the old wires back together
@lisas9034 Жыл бұрын
So, how costly I s this to repair??
@cdarnau Жыл бұрын
Well the parts are $30 a piece. If you have the tools already and you’re going to do the job yourself. $70 including a roll of tape and parts. If you’re going to let someone fix it. Depends on the labor rate and what they charge for parts. But it will be a 2 hour repair job at a shop + parts. So if the labor rate is 150 and they mark up the parts 100% you would be looking at $440 plus tax.

@cdarnau I'm a bit confused. If it's a complete harness, wouldn't it plug into the module on one end, and the sensor on the other? Why solder? Not that I'm afraid to, I'm just wondering why.
