Man I can't tell you how much I love all your videos. They have taught me so much. Just shortened the frame of my long bed to a shorty. Getting ready to install large notches and cup control arms. Already have 2.5" drop spindles and power disk brake kit for the front waiting to install. Coming along little by little. Really want to bodywork it and try a patina paint like Nick Hester does but I have access to a nice booth and could easily do nice glossy paint too. Not sure on that one. One question: Do I need plates on the rear to mount my rear bags? I'm using factory trailing arms and plan to mount in the factory spring location. I also haven't ordered my bags yet. Is there a place you recommend getting those from? I already have a 3P air system and your simple bridge and watts link. Just need to get actual bags and rear blocks. All the little stuff.

If you plan to install a notch, get a gas welder and practice a lot before hand. My first three builds I used bolt in notches. I’m not sure what options s10s have but they probably have something similar. Do your front first because it’s easier then the back.

I see what your saying about the rear block with 22’s, but what about the stock 15x7’s? How big of a block do you think I could get away with and still get it low

Great video!! Question I got is how did you mount air fitting for the rear bag since you took the top cup off? Notch the frame ?
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 3 жыл бұрын
Great question! Whenever I bag the rear of my current truck I will talk through that process! But yes you’re right. I made a template by tracing the top of the bag with the fitting hole and the two mounting bolt holes, marked the frame, then used a step bit to drill them out to size. I installed the bag first, then I screwed the air line fitting in afterward. As long as you drill the holes in the right places it’s super easy.

Hey my name is Daniel Lichtenberg I’m 17 years old and am planning a restoration for my 1976 Scottsdale c10 step side and was wondering if you have any good suggestions on execution of it , planning, staging the build for most efficient time etc. I do school as well as work so I’m in with all the guys doing budget builds and don’t have a ton of spare time. Any info would help Thanks
@SIMPLE.C10

What has worked best for me is to bag the front first. Then remove the bed and bag the back. Doing it in sections helps from having so many parts laying around and also builds confidence as you build. Take the wheels off and get your springs out. Bolt in your bag brackets and bags then reassemble. Take the bed off, get your notch in, then mount the bags. It really all depends on your plans for the truck.

@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 2 жыл бұрын
No issues at ride height. At my low setting i can’t fully turn but that’s not because of my wheel offset it’s just because of the setup. Transport wheels come with a 6 inch backspacing.

Already went 5 lug. Plan to stay with 15" or go 17" wheels. do you still recommend front cups? And just run without blocks on the rear? Plan on a notch. Want to get as low as possible. Thanks
@SIMPLE.C10
@SIMPLE.C10 3 жыл бұрын
On 15s or 17s you can run a 1 inch block. I would suggest cupping your lowers in case you ever wanted to go with a bigger wheel you could just add a bigger block in the back and still be super low.

You don’t have to move the hinges if you don’t want. You will just have to prop the hood open since you have to get rid of the springs to cut the inner fenders. I have pics if you want them. DM me on Instagram simple.c10s

Thank you for pointing that out! I actually did that on purpose because the way crown suspension does their website. When an item is out of stock they remove it from their website until it’s stocked again. If you don’t currently see it, then that means he’s getting it stocked back up. I didn’t want to put the exact page and then it be an error page. Feel free to click the contact button an email him directly to order any out of stock item.

No. The frame is different. The front will need a torsion bar kit that Velaworks offers and the rear needs a custom notch.
