C10 Long Bed to K5 Jimmy / Blazer Build - Patina

We introduce the new Pro Performance project! This is the first stages of the build. With the help of our friends in the industry, we are able to get it to where you see it here. This trucks now sits on a Roadster Shop Blazer chassis w/ Hot Rods by Boyd Wheels and Baer Brakes.

Absolutely SICK! I have a '72 4x4 that I'm trying to "restore" to running and driving condition. Way back in '72 my dad had a white 2wd that I sat on his lap and drove. Happy memories every time I see a 1st gen Blazer. 😊

The 67 and 68 years are my favorite of the 67-72 Era because of the sloped hood and the V shaped grill. This is why I own a '68 C10. 69-72 had went flat faced.

Back in the 80s we were taking this style of Jimmy and grafting on a C10 roof. Just to make it a very short pick-up. That was thing to do with these. Now it's gone full circle and Blazer/ Jimmy is cool once again.

If you're spending the time why not use the correct parts to make it as close as possible? I guess if you wanted to redneck it sure but if you want a quality build like PP, do it right. Yes, we know.... we just get in the habit of saying Blazer. Kind of like people call a tissue, Kleenex. We are very aware of the differences and a Blazer is a Chevy, and Jimmy is a GMC.

I'm not really a GM guy but that's a cool idea. Years ago on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts web site some guy was doing the same thing. Changing a F-100 into a Full size Bronco. I don't know if he ever got it done or not .He stopped posting about for some reason. Something that I always wanted to do is take a SWB F-100 and put on a factory crew cab but leave the bed short. Will that ever happen.? If I ever win the lottery Yeah Buddy.

That truck was in to good a shape to hack up. Use one in not so good a shape since replacing so much sheet metal. It looked prestine

I wanted a truck in good shape, so I would have a Blazer in good shape as well. Its all original sheetmetal, expect for the new Blazer Floor, which the truck floor was junk anyways. Only thing tossed was back panel of the cab, bed floor and rear rockers.... all else is there.

Great project. I’d love to see some more pictures of the inside of the cab and how you’re finishing off the rear door jams. We’re you able to buy all the Blazer sheet metal? All you really show is the bed floor and you made mention of the windshield header.

Thanks! The video wasn't designed as a how-to, so we didn't show a ton of that, and rather a general overview. They will be finished similar to a Blazer and boxed in. Yes, Blazer sheetmetal is available, such as the floor, windshield header, rocker boxes, and intermediate from tub to floor.

I thought the same thing when I saw the new wheels on it, but hey dude's building his truck to his liking. It's the front wheel that's making the truck have a goofy looking stance. If the front wheels had a 3" to 4" lip it would look like a totally different truck with a mean and aggressive stance as opposed to the meek&mild look it has now. The lip on the rear wheels is right. But hey I'm not hating on the man, I give it up to him for building it from the ground up. Using a bad ass frame and the engine combo going into it this thing going to be a beast with some ugly front wheels .😉😉😉😉😁

Hope that this will clear things up a bit. This is borrowed straight from Wikipedia. The original K5 Blazer was built on the K10 pickup truck platform with a wheelbase shortened to 104 in (2,600 mm), designed and marketed to compete with the International Harvester Scout (which had been introduced in 1960 for the 1961 model year) and the Ford Bronco (1965/66) utility vehicles.[2][4] The Scout and Bronco were originally aimed at the Jeep CJ series and consequently all three vehicles were much smaller than the K5 Blazer. Because the Blazer was developed from a shortened pickup truck, this innovation both increased interior space and lowered the cost of production by using a shared platform.[5] The Blazer quickly became popular. For the first time, it married the off-road capabilities of competing utility vehicles with "luxury" features like air conditioning and automatic transmissions that routinely were available on pickup trucks. By 1970, the Blazer was already outselling both of its older rivals. Ford, Dodge, and even Jeep would counter with similar shortened full-size pickups, including the Dodge Ramcharger and Jeep Cherokee, both introduced in 1974, and the revised Ford Bronco (1978).[5]

Is the wheelbase on a k5 shorter than a short bed or the same I love how back in the day so many chassis were inner changeable I have a 75 c10 I have doors from a suburban or blazer I didn't have to cut my frame cause it was a shorty but its so cool if you have a ugly longbed you can cut the frame an bed to shorty then you can have a good looking truck
