Unfortunate that wires from the original harness had to be cut and spliced. Makes going back to the OEM dash a little harder. I'm thinking about going back to the OEM dash so that I can get cruise control, dash dimmer, and shift lever position indicator operational again.
@AZProPerformance2 күн бұрын
You can have all that with Dakota, and I did with this truck. :) The sweeping gauges didn't work, so I never wanted to go back to the terrible OEM gauges.
@deangebhardt19812 күн бұрын
@@AZProPerformance I realize that cruise, dimmer switch, and shift position indicator can be installed, however, it's at an added expense. Would have been nice if Dakota had included those functions from the beginning. What's to stop them from using the OEM dimmer? Same goes for cruise. Rather than cut and splice, use a plugin to the original harness for the features that are needed/wanted? FWIW, and IMHO, dash mounted cruise controls is a step backwards.
@AZProPerformance2 күн бұрын
@@deangebhardt1981 The cruise is indapendant from the gauges, and gauges only show the "on" light, and have this right out of the box. Factory cruise will work with these gauges. The OEM dimmer wont work since the lighting in these gauges are LED. They have dimming capability right out of the box, just not on the fly. It can be dimmed by going into the settings, so you don't lose dimming capability, just its not "on the fly". But honestly, most people set it an forget it. Only added module you need is for the gear shift indicator. If they included this in every gauge, the price would be higher, then most people would complain the price is too high. If they didn't need this module (say if they used a OBD II module and got from the ECM), then they would be paying for something they don't need. Kind of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.

Not sure as we have never tried it. They have a lot of caliper offset, so not an ideal choice to use.

Does it bottom out ?
@AZProPerformance3 ай бұрын
Using the BellTech notch on a 7" drop, it can bottom out at times on large bumps. However, we have developed an under bed step notch to help with this a lot and add 2" additional travel. We also combine that with a drop kit too or available by itself. azproperformance.com/products/pro-performance-ultimate-drop-kit-88-98-c1500?_pos=1&_sid=5dd626284&_ss=r azproperformance.com/products/react-c-notch-88-98-c1500?_pos=1&_sid=28962dec8&_ss=r

Same caliper same brake power
@AZProPerformance3 ай бұрын
Incorrect sir. The larger rotor offers better leverage and increases stopping power. It’s been tested and Baer has been doing brakes systems for over 25 years, they do know a thing or two. 👍
@sethdesjarlais2 ай бұрын
Incorrect. Brake torque = the force applied by the caliper multiplied by the radius where the force is applied. An increase in radius will increase brake torque.
