Hey guys!! I know it's been a long time. I'm working on getting all my video gear up and going after some low life stole my camera's. Sorry if it's not the best format video wise. Did what I could, with what I had. Just a quick note ict is an awesome company. They over nighted me the correct bracket to get my truck going. No cost to me!!!. New bracket fixed my issue. I'll link the heavy duty bracket here. If I had to do it again I would probably go with the sanderson style compressor over the r4 style. The R4 robs a lot of power. Works great tho!!

Thank you for the positive feed back! I’m not sure the part number anymore but the hose was for a 95-98 Chevy c1500 just make sure it’s passenger side mount compressor

Ok I just did this and after a ton of research I found the exact hos you need. It's a four season 56373 part number and from a 1989 k5 blazer.

Hey which fan shroud are you using with the ls swap to keep the stock clutch fan? Having a hard time finding any info it would be greatly appreciated. Great video btw!

I was running the factory fan shroud from the square body. I modified the mounts to make it work. I'm also running ICT adapter plates so if you are running the Tejas mount kit then it may not work since that kit sets the engine higher in the engine bay I beleive.

Do you need any other things to make the a/c blow with the swap? Or do you just need the a/c compresser bracket and the lines?

I just got a compressor off a 90s camaro. Ordered like off a 90s c10. And then went ahead and bought a new condenser ans drier but not needed unless yours is old like mine. Then of course the bracket from ict. I used the factory pressure switches and wiring from my truck. I will be switching the wiring to let the pcm control the compressor because it bogs down hard and wants to die coming to a light because the pcm does not know to idle up.

If you could do it over would you use the same ac (pancake) or a original ls compressor

I think I would have done the sanderson style compressor over the pancake (R4) style compressor. I like the top mount specially being turbo now because it's out of the way of everything.

So everything is stock besides the r4 compressor and lines. I’m running the same set up and bought everything new but for some odd reason my drier and line aren’t cold. Everything else is hot but feels too hot and I assumed it was the orifice tube that was installed incorrectly but I doubled check and its all good. Any ideas what im doing wrong?

Everything was left factory. The only thing I changed was I went to a Camaro Style compressor to get the belt spacing right and I went to an obs ac line because it was originally mounted on the passenger side on the obs versus the driver side like the square body trucks.

I reused the factory truck wiring to control the ac compressor and then used a ground switched relay to turn my fans on

I used lines off a 90s model truck. Those are passenger side mount like where mine is now.

They sent me the H.D. bracket kit and its been perfectly fine since.

His name was Josh Griffin. However, he is no longer making them. You may check with techno toy and see if they have any available or silvermine motorsports I believe makes a kit

Did you use the same evaporator? And did you use an orfice tube coming out of the bottom line of the evaporator?

Everything was left alone from the 87 R10. Only thing I changed was compressor and the hose assembly coming off the compressor

@@juanchoman9824 I dont remember the part number but I do remember it was got a early 90s c1500 chevy. Basically you need one for a vehicle that had a passenger side mount compressor. I'm sure there are other gm vehicles out there that may work better. I had to bend mine a bit to get a good fit.

Yes it did! Haven't had any issues out of it yet! Have probably about 10k miles on it so far.

Yes I did. Was able to use the rest of the stuff from the c10

On the a/c it it hooked to ls harness?? Or to obs harness??

I used the square bodies factory ac wiring since it would be getting the signal to turn on from the hvac controls in the truck. It can make an issue if you are drive by cable because it can lug down from the load. I switched to drive by wire later when I went 6.0 and turbo and it was much smoother.

@@gerardolopez5875 they actually don’t fit unless you use the tonjes mounts. I used the ict billet adapter plates which sets the engine lower so the factory ac on the 5.3 actually gets in the way of the frame. You can notch the frame but the adapters get in the way. I also was trying to reuse as many parts as I could and since the truck came with the pancake it was easier to use. If I had to do it over again I would probably go with the bracket kit that uses the sanderson barrel style compressor as they create less drag on the engine.

@@on3racingchannel819 @ i did my 84 c10, I used the cheap 26$amazon adapters , and a/c compressor fits there,, U only need to modify the a/c lines,, But i wouldn’t never use the R4 compressor,,

@@gerardolopez5875 weird. Did you cut the adapters or something? The plates I used covered the holes for the original ac bracket. I also moved the engine back as far as possible to allow space for the turbo setup later on. I’m sure if it was forward more the compressor would have cleared fine. The ac worked great in the truck just a heavy load. If I had to do it again I wouldn’t have gone with the pancake compressor.
