Those square body models are my favorite. They were produced from 1973 through 1991, except the regular cab pickups were discontinued in 1987, but just the half tons & three quarter tons. The one ton regular cab pickups on the other hand were still in production up through 1989. 1973 was the first year an optional bigger cab pickup was produced by Chevy & GMC which was a crew cab & they were only offered on three quarter ton & one ton models & all had the 8ft long fleetside box.

I really love them too! I've had a 77 C20 long bed and a 78 C20 Suburban and I miss them both!! Thank you for watching Kevin.

@@CLASSICSAREBETTER the most rare square bodies nowadays are the pickups with the 8ft long stepside box. Also the second rarest square bodies nowadays are the crew cab pickups. The regular cab pickups with the short stepside box & the short & 8ft long fleetside boxes are the most common square bodies today.

@@CLASSICSAREBETTER 1980 was both the first year for square shaped headlamps & last year for round shaped ones on the square bodies. The square shaped ones came standard on models with the Silverado & Sierra Classic trim levels but optional on the others. In 1981, new dual stacked rectangular shaped headlamps replaced last year's square shaped ones & the square shaped ones replaced last year's round shaped ones. Also in 1981, the nose on the front was completely redesigned & the interior, emblems, & optional bodyside molding trim to name a few were also redesigned. 1987 was the first year for gasoline fuel injected motors.

@lAcid Rainl I like them both, but probably like the round headlights slightly more. Im probably biased a little though since my first Chevy was a '77 Silverado lol. What do you prefer?
@kevinrichards32882 жыл бұрын
@lAcid Rainl I don't know. Probably the round.

A '61 Burb is a pretty cool ride! On those early 60s chevys you can get a decent amount of info from the VIN number, sometimes they are also tagged down by your feet on the driver side, and some had RPO codes in the glove box. It's an adventure on some of these to get the info, but if your good with Google you can get it done. Good luck on your build!!

I like the trucks and would love to attend this event. You know if you spent less time with the camera turned on you and more on the trucks you could show more.

You should check it out next year, it is three days of cool trucks, thanks for watching!
