While I was having a morning walk I stopped in front of You Tube music awhile for sifting through all music presentations to find out anything which suited my tastes for listening to at home in the evening.Suddenly you appeared there and dragged me ( lonely walker) by my both hands and took me to your repository of classics. After making myself at home you switched on the video and the music started playing.Then you yelled at me " Enjoy the wonderful music,if you want" and immediately left the room.I was all alone in the room.The only consolation was that the wonderful music was of Boccerini's. During the pre- you tube era I had enjoyed Boccerini's minuet through a CD containing compositions of different maestros.Other than the minuet I didn't know any other compositions of Boccerini. Even after one hour of listening I didn't want to go.I heard out the presentation of more than three hours.Many of the pieces of fine music I enjoyed here were already heard by me through you tube live streaming but I was not aware that Boccerini was the composer of the enchanting music.Such a great composer who created the magnificent music! It was a memorable day for me knowing closely the great music of Boccerini. I don't know whom I should thank for this wonderful opportunity - luck or the lawbreaker who dragged me illegally and yet offered me this opportunity? Anyway, exceptional indeed your illegal activity of enchanting music lovers. This music lover was enamoured by enchanting music of Boccerini! I hope you will continue with this illegal activity - an activity in which the provoker is not the real beneficiary , rather all the benefits are accrued to the 'victim' , affectionately called aficionado of music.Wow.Bravo.Gfacias!!!

Julius, a good friend of mine, was given access to this cello at the beginning of his academic career. While in Prague doing some research, he came across these works by Boccherini. The last time they were performed was by Boccherini himself on the same instrument Julius is using here. Thus the circle has closed.
@gollypo4488 жыл бұрын
+Laurence Matson He plays the instrument beautifully. I can only imagine Boccherini would be overjoyed to see that his works (finally) and his old cello are in such safe hands.

There is a very famous painting of Boccherini, quite accurate for a painting, represents the cello well also. Do you have any idea if the cello your friend plays is the same cello in the painting?

@brunodonderi98696 жыл бұрын

Ridolfo Luigi Boccherini 1743 - 1805 an Italian classical era composer and cellist whose music retained a courtly and galante style while he matured somewhat apart from the major European musical centers. Boccherini is most widely known for one particular minuet from his String Quintet in E, Op. 11, No. 5 (G 275), and the Cello Concerto in B flat major (G 482) ....(wiki)

+rannoudanames That is pretty much exactly how I pictured that piece of the geography of Middle Earth when I first read lotr about thirty five years ago! Shows what great writing it is, as Tolkien used very few actual descriptions of landscape, and yet the impressions he's created in his readers over the decades have been remarkably consistent. All the illustrations that have been produced, not to mention the film, tend to be more consistent regarding the landscape than they are with the orcs or wargs for instance. Cheers for reminding me!

Boccherini was a cellist. All these concertos, all better than Haydn's and Dvorak's. And so much more pleasing to listen to. Why aren't these on classical radio from morning to evening? I also like Giuseppe di Majo's on KZbin a lot. And Leonardo Leo's are also a cut above the rest.
