C2 Proficiency (CPE) Listening Test 33 with answers helps you practice listening skills for the C2 Proficiency Listening Test new format.
The C2 Proficiency Listening paper has four parts. For each part you have to listen to a recorded text or texts and answer some questions. You hear each recording twice.
Part 1: Three short, unrelated recordings lasting approximately 1 minute each. You have to listen to the recordings and answer two multiple-choice questions for each recording. Each question has three options (A, B or C). One mark for each correct answer.
Part 2: A monologue or prompted monologue lasting 3-4 minutes. The questions are a series of incomplete sentences. You have to listen to the recording and identify the information you need (one to three words) to fill each gap. One mark for each correct answer.
Part 3: A recording with interacting speakers lasting 3-4 minutes. You have to listen to the recording and answer a series of multiple-choice questions, each with four options (A, B, C or D). One mark for each correct answer.
Part 4: Five short, themed monologues, of approximately 35 seconds each. There are two multiple-matching tasks. Each multiple-matching task requires the selection of the five correct options from a list of eight. One mark for each correct answer.
There are 30 questions in the CPE Listening Test.

Thanks for uploading those sample tests. They have facilitated my preparation immeasurably. Be that as it may, I am willing to argue about question 3. As far as I am concerned, the correct answer should be A, since quite often sarcasm is used to express criticism. Furthermore, ''give it a whirl, we might surprise you'' sounds to me as if there high chances that the problem would be resolved. I might be mistaken, though. Let me know your perspective

Yes, this would be not easy to choose. Although, she is being sarcastic when she says, she really agrees with these people that she probably can't help them. And she may express criticism or annoyance but we don't have information support that she really criticizes their attitude. Noticing she says" yes, well, we're fairly useless". "It's a long shot, but give it a whirl", she wants to tell them that it's worth them asking if she can (help).

@@VietFCE Yeah, I see what you mean. Still, it is rather ambitious. And frankly I resent when the Cambridge guys include such questions with an element of interpretation, as logically it could go either way depending on the person. Thanks again

Very thankful for these videos, I have to ask however, does anyone have any documents that have the entire test? I would like to practice my reading and use of english as well as writing but I haven't had much luck in finding books with cpe tests. If you have access to pdfs like these, would you please share them? Thank you.

Hi, thanks for uploading these! Are you sure the answers 21-30 are all correct, though? I don't think you can match the same item more once? You put “H” twice in task 2 (22, 26) and “B” for 24 and 28. That cannot be right. Thank you .
