This was really helpful to see what I'm getting into. Thank you for explaining everything in detail and the camera work was also solid. I opted to just replace the entire half shaft assembly rather than just rebuilding with new U-Joints. My '75 and as you stated the diameter increased to 3" rather than the thinner 2.5"

Thanks for taking the time to adjust the cameras so we can see what your doing, a lot of people don't bother. I think my 75 is going to need this, I feel something strange when I back up and I thinks a u joint is binding up. Thanks again.

Did I miss the part where you installed the u joint into the spindle flange?? Also you can't use that half shaft when you can press the u joint cap in with your thumbs...take it to your driveshaft shop and have them weld a new yoke in it.

@ 14:30 on your video The Chevrolet Corvette (C3) was a sports car that was produced by Chevrolet for the 1968 through 1982 model years. Also the half shafts need to match and weight or you will get a vibration in your rear end it can range from mild too severe. Anyway like your video will be using it for reference thank you

never press on the side of the yoke ,you can bend it ,and the new U-joint won't fit properly.use a small socket to drive the U=joint cap down .use the press plates to allow the other cap to drop out .use solid U-joints ,not the ones with grease fittings .

What's a guy going to pay for this job in a shop? For all four of them? Thank you that was a really good video I might be able to do it myself after watching your video you did a wonderful job of description and if I didn't have a press would I just hammer it out with a punch instead?

What year is your Corvette? My bolts on my u joints are very small 1/4 size 12 point Socket it's 1981 Corvette. Did you seem to get your half shafts out easy? How about the drive shaft was it easy? I have not done the job yet. Thank you great video..

Mine is a 1974. I had a lot of trouble getting the u-boats out because they were caked with so much road grime in the bolt threads dut once they were out, I was fairly easy to get the half shafts out.

I just jacked up my 81, undid the 12 point 1/4 bolts, and was able to wiggle it out of the car. I've had these out before, they go back in fine.

you going to do all that work but you better pack the rear axle wheel bearing
