It was nice to see that you didn't skip or edit out some footage of the obstacles you encountered . Many will say stuff like it pops right in when that's rarely the case . A parts list would have been nice . Thanks .

thanx... Just trying to make real videos doing real stuff showing lessons learned. A parts list? I have two brands of u-joints listed in the description and the main tools you need as well. Was there something else I should have included?

For the rear tie rod, instead of the fork you can loosen the castle nut a bit and whack the nut upward with a rubber mallet and it will pop right out.

At the end of the video you said the clunk noise prompted you to do this repair...did that sound go completely away? I've heard that the "clink" noise starting in reverse, or forward is the teflon washer behind the hub and axle shaft... Great video...I think this repair is also in my future...I need to change out shocks and I figured universals are probably due....

Yes the sound almost completely went away. I also need to do u joints on the drive shaft as well. I thought something was wrong with the transmission for the longest time but it was mainly the half shaft that was bad.

3 years ago, so no idea if you'll reply, but i've watched a couple of these and i'm just wondering if you separate the tie rod first, will that give you easier access to the carrier bolts?

@@nobodyspecial-d5j they were rather easy to remove. A shorter socket would have helped. That was the issue I had

Next time invert that Castle nut on the Tye rod and strike it with a hammer. That will save the boot.
