what if i want to change the color of the spotlight? how can i do that?
@ty19784 жыл бұрын
I guess you would have figured this out by now seeing as you posted this 4 months ago but you just change the colour of the light in the 'general tab' then 'use light colour' on the Octane tag
@laforni54892 жыл бұрын
I thisnk this question is stupid but im newbie, i want a hdri will light my project BUT i dont want to see it in the final render, if I put a plane behind it, it covers the hdri lights and the specular material does not make the same reflections :(
@CGShortcuts2 жыл бұрын
You can hide your hdri from camera or use Render passes to comp it out, are you using octane?
@Gaorkem5 жыл бұрын
Oi mate. I'm just an extreme newbie for Octane, especially when it comes to it's materials. The file you've provided has no materials unfortunately. Is it possible to have them? If not, can you suggest a tutorial for creating materials on Octane? Thank you very very much!
@CGShortcuts5 жыл бұрын
Hi Atahan, I do all my final renders with Octane which I guess a lot of people dont have. I put the finished render ready projects on our Patreon page though if you need them, cant supply the statue though as it's not mine;) I'm currently working on a huge Octane materials course so hopefully have that out soon

@glennsmooth4 жыл бұрын
That's a lot of hoops to jump through to have a simple spotlight with little control
@julianforthun4 жыл бұрын
Doing it this way can give you far more accurate lights. You can find the IES map for the specific real life model you're using straight from the manufacturer and get exactly how the light would look irl. Also, you have a lot of control. All light settings are there and the texture can be changed by transforming and stuff just like in this video.

Troubleshoot solve: If you find your projector only playing the first frame of your video and then playing the rest of the video as black (this is the problem I had), make sure that your JPEG sequence (or png or tiff etc) is inside your "tex" folder, which is next to your project file.

could someone help me im trying to make a microwave in a night light scene like the yellow microwave light is coming out through the microwave screen but when I put the light in the microwave it shines behind it and its like not trapped in the microwave
@CGShortcuts6 жыл бұрын
Hey dead amigo, are you using Octane render?
@user-bq1bv3vc4y6 жыл бұрын
no im using the normal one I bought octane but my graphics card is intel and I cant use it so im struggling right now to make a realistic light in the microwave shining out from inside
@user-bq1bv3vc4y6 жыл бұрын
I can send you screen shots whats your email
@CGShortcuts6 жыл бұрын
you can send it to dave@cgshortcuts.com I can't promise anything though as I rarely use the standard renderer these days

I kind of figured it out what I did was turn on the ambient occlusion and mess with the settings and set up and light inside of the microwave it still has less light escaping now
