Hey I am a newby to cinema 4d. Will it be ok in future tutorials to explain more thoroughly what each step is rather skipping steps which I presume are meant to be pretty basic steps. For instance, explaining that you need to make the primitive cube editable in order to use loop selection. Cheers! Great starter project for me to practice modelling!

Hi Eli, great tutorial just what I needed as an absolute beginner. As a complete novice, is there any chance you could do a walk-through on the rendering process and settings for the chest animation, my version is very grainy and fuzzy, not sure what I have done wrong but some pointers would be very much appreciated.

@twistereli6 жыл бұрын
It should be there. But it can happen if you're on a stripped down version (you know, something you downloaded somewhere). The easiest solution is to just create a new material and on the luminance channel add an hdri image you found on google, there are plenty of them.

Hey Eli, nice vid again and congrats on your 10,000 subs! If i may give you an alternative to the volumetric lighting. if you are using global illumination anyway, why not use the inside of the box and activate the luminance channel in the texture to give it a glow, this will also solve your problem with the light distribution.
@twistereli6 жыл бұрын
Great suggestion indeed! Haven't thought about it. But I don't think it will give these rays of light, right? More of a glow like you say. Also I don't think it can be animated during the opening of the chest, but maybe that isn't necessary.
@leon.3d6 жыл бұрын
Yeah correct, this would give more of a glow effect like coins/gold would be at the bottom of the chest (whish i could post screenshots here). i don't think it's needed to animate the glow, but animating the luminance value's would be possible if wanted of course.

Quick Question... At 8:04, why does that other line disappear when you add the cut to create the quad? Thank you. I'm learning a lot from your tutorials.
@eliprenten70665 жыл бұрын
The light blue/cyan lines are N-Gons. That's C4D its own calculation of where it is putting the lines you've forgotten to draw. That way C4D still has fake quads. You could consider it as a suggestion to were to place your cuts (often not a good suggestion lol). So if you make that new line, it doesn't need to show the N-Gon anymore.

um what are those green lines that appear sometimes when i use the line cut and i cant dissolve them . they appear sometimes like i use the line cut they appear i ctrl z and do lin cut again they are gone or appear its strange . help plz
@twistereli6 жыл бұрын
If it are greenish-blue (aka cyan) lines, they are N-gons. Just giving the easy and not so 100% accurate explanation here... It's the automated way of 3D software to fix points which have a sudden stop in the middle of an edge.. So it calculates an extra line without cutting your polygon in 2 already. So that way it can re-calculate with every change you make. You can't select them, but you can use them as a guide to make your own cuts (which will not change anything really, so don't even bother if everything looks fine when unselected). On flat surfaces they don't harm, when you start warping your object you will notice it gives glitchy shading on that part. As if you get a crease. You can disable them in the viewport menu (Filter > N-gon Lines)

The hardest tutorial to follow I've ever watched. You explain little to nothing for what you are doing. Never been so frustrated. Explain more.
@twistereli3 жыл бұрын
It's not a beginner or easy tutorial, even if the end result looks easy. I literally explain every single step, even to the point where the video gets ridiculously long. I bet you haven't watched many other C4D tuts if you think this already lacked detail... If you expected me to mention each button I press you're just not ready for this one yet. Aim lower.
@c4Dxdley3 жыл бұрын
nah, it aint that serious.

@@c4Dxdley Good edit. The original comment wasn't really true and even kinda entitled considering I post this stuff for free. Maybe a full paid course will serve you better. Hope it helps.
@c4Dxdley3 жыл бұрын
The original comment was meant to help you help others. You create tutorials which are meant to help people learn. Something you don't want as an instructor is for people learning from you to be frustrated and/or having a hard time learning and understanding as you explain in steps. "aim lower" lmao
@twistereli3 жыл бұрын
@@c4Dxdley Totally agree, that's my goal. Never really had anyone struggle with more than just a step here and there so far. Not here, or on the MOBOX channel or at the college I teach at (not C4D). So at first it just came off as arrogant and aggressive with "hardest tutorial -ever-" & "-never- been so frustrated" in contrast with all the positive feedback. Hence my reply of aiming lower. But this certainly is the hardest tutorial I've made for both me and the viewer. So I understand. Certainly not something I'd recommend for anyone just starting out.
