good stuff cant wait, looks like you have the bases covered, when you do the springs keep the cylinder up at tdc, normal i know for less pressure on springs and all, what im trying to say here is don't trust the air pressure in cylinder to keep the valve seated, i have had one drop and the piston kept it in reach

Cant wait to see how it turns out. I'm doing a similar upgrade in a few months as soon as I get the rest of my parts. I have most of the stuff and I'm debating on replacing some of the accessory stuff like sensors, belt tensioners etc while I'm in there. I did pick up new belts and hoses fairly cheap on amazon. I will replace the power steering pump pulley as its plastic and the new one is aluminum and has holes that make it much easier to get to the bolts behind.
@YellowVette044 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea. I didn't think about replacing that belt or any hoses since they're in good shape. It's still one of those "while you're in there" upgrades.

P.S. to earlier comment. I'm really curious how the Vette will drive after the install while driving it to CSP. I'm just wondering if it will run in almost a total limp mode or not. Also, will the factory rev limiter still be active? FWIW, back in the day, with hydraulic cams, if we pushed the revs the valves would "float," essentially acting similar to a rev limiter. Then we'd upgrade to a solid lift cam. We'd get so excited with the new found performance, but if you did not pay close attention to the RPM's, BAM! You'd grenade the engine.

Just curious- why don’t you replace the water pump while you have it apart
@YellowVette044 жыл бұрын
I thought about it and almost did get one. The existing one is working fine and showing no issues. Now of course it could go next week or it could last a couple more years, so I decided to roll the dice on a few more years. It's not that hard to replace down the road when needed. The oil pump is hard to get to, so that's why I'm doing that now. I hope my logic makes sense lol.
