I have always loved Corvette and bought my first one about 1-1/2 years ago. I've gotten the same fever you have of "need for speed" and now have a 2016 Z06 and a 2011 Grand Sport. Huge difference between the two but love them both. I'm thinking a lot about the C5 Z lately.

I remember in 03 when I spent a lot of time at gm dealers looking at these Z06s I couldn’t afford one then and couldn’t justify buying one later. Now they’re very affordable and I’m going to be buying one in a couple years to build with my son. He’s 11 now so we’ll have a couple years to make it badass. The wife didn’t agree with getting a teen a Corvette even an older one till I reminded her all the trouble I got into in sedans,SUVs, etc. only 2 seats so only 2 people in a Vette and it’s going to get attention from everyone including cops so he won’t be doing anything shady.

@meefjwfhss I cargurus.com is a good start. You can search by year, max price, mileage etc. you can even search by color, trans, convertible or not. You can eliminate ones that have damage history if you like. Yes there are plenty out there under 20k. I’ve seen nice ones under 100k miles, no previous damage for 17-19,000.

I had an ‘02 C5 convertible. I had a Vararam intake on it, a B&B Bullet exhaust w/4” round tips. I used to get on it in downtown San Francisco along with my cousin on his Harley with a Thunder header. We would menace the streets for a few minutes. I’d be in 1st and 2nd gear. The sounds would echo and reverberate off the faces of those old buildings. We had a ball.
