I just picked up a 2008 Z with 6008 miles in December. Although I live in Atlanta, had to go 700 miles to get a really low mileage car! It's my 6th Vette, and so much fun, I should have done this 5 years ago!!

@@hhaste yeah I realize that ha, I was a freshman in high-school at the time, I'm a soon to be senior and I had no clue what I was saying then, I've since then been partly educated on the US military branches and will continue my military career after high school, I appreciate your concern on what to start on driving, since then my passion has moved onto motorcycles. I'm confident I could handle a z06 or a 600cc, but who knows maybe I'll look back at this comment in a few years also to call out my ignorance once more lol

Yep, top end of 2nd gear is a big ticket. Top end of 3rd gear is the “go to jail & car impounded gear.” And if you take 4th gear to 7000 RPM’s you’ll be zipping along at 162 mph!!! This car is sick and scary.

Man I had just bought myself a 2016 Mustang Eco at 19 and as a few months later go by I see these corvettes and I’m like dammm they look fucking sick. So I proceeded to look at the prices of them and they were going for like 40-45k. So I’m definitely gonna wait a year or two but I definitely plan on getting one in the near future 👍. Damn that thing looks like it flies. I have an '08 Z51 vert 6spd with 23k on the clock. I bought it new and now looking to put a supercharger on it. So far I have a full exhaust, ported TB, CAI and its tuned. I think the SC should put me in your territory of HP and speed.

Yeah it took time to adjust a little bit. The 2nd gear spin, you probably saw I had to let off and adjust then accelerate. But the Z is no joke. Definitely one of the most raw experience I've felt.

@@jacobmontes5000 - just plan on getting the heads checked by a reputable shop if they haven’t already been addressed. My ‘08Z had 16,400mi last year and LPE said all the exhaust valve guides were worn beyond the factory service limit! That’s over 0.0037” clearance between the valve and the guide. They were flopping around in there!!! Don’t take a chance with a $12k, 7,000 RPM, 427ci, all-aluminum small block. I’d personally recommend Lingenfelter but there are others like Katech, Texas Speed, American Heritage Performance, WCCH. Don’t let just anyone touch your LS7 heads! My 2 cents.

@@mattharper588 - the 630HP package is awesome. When you buy the package, they tune it for you, which is an excellent idea. I’d come up with a list of activities you plan to do with the car such as: Road course driving/HPDE, Autocross, Drag racing, roll racing, road trips, or daily driving with the occasional rip up the freeway on-ramp. They can tune it safely for what you plan to do with the car, just be honest. A tune for the road course will be slightly different from a max-HP drag race tune. I push my Z on a Road course hard enough to get the coolant to 225 and the oil as hot as 250 degrees f!
